Yes.
HSBC rejected my claim, but when I went to the financial ombudsman, HSBC then made them/me an offer.
As for your other question, I think the main things you need are the policy number and the reason why you think you we're miss sold.
Anything else helps, but probably not essential. E.g. An idea of what you paid and when, your address (esp if it has changed) or the details of the bank account it was paid from.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -

I caught up with this late and only posted off my CPP claim in the week before it was due. I used their pre-paid 2nd class envelope, but it should have got there before the deadline. Now I'm thinking I should have done registered post or something just to prove that it did. For other people who posted really late, have you heard anything yet?
I posted claim back about one week before deadline and I'm still waiting.0 -
I posted my claim on 29th July and am also still waiting for a reply. I suppose an acknowledgement of receipt would have been too much to expect.0

I've noticed from this thread that claims aren't necessarily being dealt with in order of receipt i.e. people who sent their forms in fairly recently have been paid but people who sent their claims in quite a while ago are still waiting.3 stone down, 3 more to go0

Do note that they have up to sixteen weeks to respond and you should not take undue note of unsubstantiated reports on the internet that some people have had a quick turnaround.0 -

They have up to sixteen weeks to respond. No one has so far reported waiting that long.0 -
Hi, newbie here. My mum just received notification from the Halifax this morning, re. pre 2005 claim for CPP mis-selling. She first took it out in 1986, probably one of the first to do so. She has been awarded (deep breath) £12,000!! Yes, your eyes do not lie. We are stunned. There is a very long and unintelligible explanation but it seems to be in serbo-croat so not sure what it means!
Is this a record?0 -
I'd appreciate any advice here. I was just looking through some old junk mail and found a letter from CPP, advising me of my right to claim for mis-selling, but with the deadline of 30 August - which I have obviously missed. I have seen the template letter on the site, but I wonder whether other forum users think it worth mentioning that I believed this was junk mail. There was nothing on the envelope to suggest its importance. And in applying for compensation, should I also fill in the forms along with my letter? Thank you - feeling rather stupid!0

MSE are recommending people fill in the forms even though the deadline has passed. Whether this will be successful is uncertain though.
Nevertheless, you missed the deadline and you don't appear to meet their criteria of "exceptional circumstance" just because you thought the letter was junk mail.0
