  • I only picked up on this at the end of July and completed paperwork. Bit of a fiasco with papers not arriving and in the end paying recorded delivery to make sure the form got there before the cutoff. But what a result - came home to a cheque for £247.18. Thanks MSE - yet another example of you helping me out and having bought a house last year I can tell you every penny counts!;)

I waited until a week before the deadline before sending our letters off. My husband got a letter with a cheque for £250 yesterday. :) We've no idea what card or company we were claiming off either. I just copied the template on here.

I haven't had a letter back for mine yet but would assume i'd get one telling me if I wasn't entitled to anything?
  • My form reached CPP on the 19th of August and today a cheque for £75 arrived! Not a fortune but certainly worth the price of postage.
PPI on Natwest loan, Barclayloan, MBNA credit card, and Mortgagecare all repaid just for asking in 2012/2013!

Barclaycard - PPI refund refused 26/01/13, ombudsman upheld 12 May 2014, Barclays resisted until March 2015 - FOS say Barclays are calculating an offer, they have 8 weeks.
  • My wife and I each received a welcome cheque following our claim to CPP in August. However, where the initial claim application covered both Card Protection and ID protection, the accompanying letter referred only to the ID one. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Also, MSE says that claims can be backdated prior to 2005. My Card protection goes back to 1994 but the only documentation I have is the first renewal notice from CPP. I no longer have anything indicating where the proposal to take out a policy might have come. If a bank it could be Natwest or Bank of Scotland. If a credit card.it could be Barclaycard Visa or Access because I had both. I also had an MBNA card around that the time but cancelled it shortly afterwards.

Does anyone have advice as to options.

Do you think they will even bother to quibble it now the FO has ruled that they have to pay? Won't it be an across the board ruling or would they bother dealing with each case individually? If this is a policy u-turn then I would imagine they shouldn't offer up much resistance.

Every complaint is dealt with on it's own merits (or lack of them). The Ombudsman is the final arbiter of disagreements between financial institutions and their customers.

A single ruling in favour of one customer does not automatically mean every customer who complains will be be awarded redress.

Only the same advice which has been posted already (over and over) on this thread.

I caught up with this late and only posted off my CPP claim in the week before it was due. I used their pre-paid 2nd class envelope, but it should have got there before the deadline. Now I'm thinking I should have done registered post or something just to prove that it did. For other people who posted really late, have you heard anything yet?
  • I have just received £67 for the equivalent of 2 cards, does anyone think that is only a small amount? I had the 2 bank cards for over 8year, but because I changed banks, I shredded all of my information. should I dispute this and not place the cheque sent into my bank?
Sorry I'm new to this forum and didn't know where else to go for help
    Thank you.

It's a small amount. Most of the awards listed on this thread are similarly modest. CPP was usually paid as a small annual fee, it wasn't PPI.

Unless you can find documentary proof of having paid more, then it's unlikely you will get anything additional. Do remember that only payments after 2005 were part of the scheme.
