I had a CPP policy since 2009 which I took out directly with them after reading their misleading advertising material. CPP have my correct address as they recently sent me a renewal which I did not take (so the policy is now cancelled). However, they have not sent me a claim letter.

What do I need to do?

    Thanks.
If you've not had a form contact the scheme team on 08000 834393.

I have written to CPP twice and filled out forms on behalf of my motherin-law who is now in a home due to a stroke, advising of her condition and change of address. The forms went off the end of last year and the last letter I sent recorded delivery was at the beginning of this year, but we have not heard anything back. Should it take this long or do I need to chase again as I think they are ignoring the change of address and we no longer have a re-direction on the mail as she moved nearly a year ago.
  • Hi,
I received the CPP claim form and envelope a couple of months ago, but I put the envelope for recycling and put the letter in my "to shred" box! It is only this morning that I realised that we were mis-sold because I had no idea that our banks protected us anyway. Fortunately, I still have the form but don't have the envelope. Any ideas where I have to send the form to? I am guessing that it's Scheme Processing Services Ltd, PO Box 250, NR18 8DG, but don't want to send it there in case it gets lost. Does anyone still have their envelope from which they can give me the address, or do I need to phone CPP and get stuck on hold?! Thanks for your help.

    Hi Kath
That is the address that I have but with the inclusion of the town of Wymondham. The post code is correct so it should find them regardless.

    Still waiting for my cheque!

Whilst checking when this claim originated (in respect of my late husband) I noticed that there is a closing date of 30th August 2014 after which the right to make a claim is lost. So for those of you dallying, be quick.
  • I binned the original letter, then received a 2nd one. I saw in the press that I should claim.
I decided to phone the company and was told that my policy dated back to 1988 - it was the M&S Card Safe. The guy on the phone said it was one of the oldest one he had seen!
I completed the claim form and sent it off. I received a cheque for £250.
Am now about to start to process of trying to reclaim back to 1988. I have downloaded the template - thank you.

I have had CPP with my M&S card since 1991.
I responded to the letter from CPP and was refunded from 2005 but M&S are disputing refunding me from 1992 to 2004. I have this in the hands of the Financial Ombudsdman but cannot understand how 1 part can pay out and the other not !

They have been made to pay out from 14th Jan 2005 as that is when the Financial Services Authority investigated. Prior to this date, even though your policy was still mis-sold, the FSA cannot make them pay back the premiums but you are entitled to claim and if response is not acceptable, then you can take it to the Financial Ombudsman Service for them to negotiate and settle the matter. Good luck.

I got my CPP Identity Protection premiums refunded with no hassle and got £203.91. Just waiting for my card safe to be settled now and my complaint for pre 2005 premiums for card safe as well.

One part of your complaint is part of a recognised refund scheme. Earlier than 2005, you have made a separate complaint about a time pre-regulation. Has the Ombudsman actually accepted your complaint referral?

The FSA has "investigated" nothing. January 2005 was the date that regulation of insurance sales began.

FOS don't "negotiate", they adjudicate -there is more than a subtle difference.

I already had £180 CPP Card Protection and Identity Theft insurance premiums refunded by CPP a year ago. Filled in the new forms; sent them off - got a cheque for £375 in the post two weeks later - no fuss! That'll do me. I didnt have to produce any evidence- they have all the records anyway and are happy to tell you what you can claim.
So dont be shy, make your claim.
