I beg to differ here. I was mis-sold this policy as the FSA deemed, but they can only make them pay from 14th January 2005 because that is when they were investigated. This just means you have to make a separate claim for any policies pre 2005 and after speaking to CPP direct just now, I actually can make a claim as it was through the CPP that I was sold the M&S Card Safe policy.

If you bought prior to 2005, then you complain to the seller of the insurance because the CPP scheme only covers the period post 2005.

And I did complain to the seller!! CPP Group Plc not the redress scheme sell M&S card safe policies and you can ring them to lodge your complaint over the phone.

I did ring them in end April about not receiving my letter which was sent out. Don't have an issue with post here.,

If I don't hear by 20th June. I will be contacting them!!

Could they send my letter by recorded delivery?? They can knock off the cost from the compo!

Or can they send the money electronically?

    Getting impatient now!

They won't even do this if you offer to pay the postage upfront.

    Any payment is not guaranteed
Or can they send the money electronically?
Money is paid back by cheque

Okay, but this takes us back to your original comment about threatening them with the Ombudsman being futile.

I had a smooth free easy to understand. Experience with CPP.
They outsource the payment system to the banks responsible for redress. I doubt if they would do a BACS for small amounts.

Pre 2005 sales I wrote to the banks and have now been refunded last week . CPP are not going to refund pre 2005 direct from themselves.
The banks who sold this product are the one to complain to .

Thank you to Martin and his team, I have received a cheque for £270 which will be a great help for my daughter's university costs. I had to wait eight weeks if anyone else is waiting, they are obviously inundated. Off to the book shop!

Banks didn't sell the Marks & Spencer chargecard insurance though. Personally, I would have thought any pre 2005 mis-selling complaint would have to go to Marks & Spencer-but apparently this is not the case for forum user "DEFIF".

Why should I wait 6-8 weeks per time I sent back my forms and again another 6-8 weeks because I never received the letter?

If someone phones up CPP that they have not received the letter they should tackle that case ASAP.

How can I guarantee that I will receive the letter this time around?

It's not my fault that I didn't receive the letter!

No issues with post and they have the correct address details!
