I have had a nice surprise with this completely forgot about this until about a month ago when i was clearing out a stack of paperwork, found the documents and sent them off and got cheque through in under 4 weeks. At the same time time i thought i would try my luck and claim back for the amounts prior to 2005 with the credit card company and got a letter back yesterday confirming success and cheque would follow.:beer:0

Feels like I could be going round in circles.0 -
It's you Moneyineptitude that says it would be futile to go to the Ombudsman as they have no jurisdiction. I, on the other hand have listened to Martin Lewis who said this is what you should put at the end of your letter when claiming for pre 2005 premiums paid, so believe the Ombudsman must have jurisdiction plus having worked in banking for many years know this to be true as does my sister who until recently held a high position in banking dealing with insurance etc. Also it isn't just me who says banks didn't sell the M&S card safe policies - ring them yourself and they will tell you they are in fact CPP but the card safe number is only for existing policy holders of card safe and not the redress scheme. CPP Group Plc is the seller of this particular policy and you can in fact lodge a complaint about mis-selling with them for pre 2005 M&S card safe policies. Whether they pay out is another matter but if they mis-sold (and they did) then you have every right to complain and take it to the FOS if the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction.0

Hi DEFIF
I also had M&S Card Safe in the 1980. Can you advise, to claim do I just send a letter to CPP?0 -
I had a CPP policy since 2009 which I took out directly with them after reading their misleading advertising material. CPP have my correct address as they recently sent me a renewal which I did not take (so the policy is now cancelled). However, they have not sent me a claim letter.
What do I need to do?
Thanks.0 -
I have had CPP with my M&S card since 1991.
I responded to the letter from CPP and was refunded from 2005 but M&S are disputing refunding me from 1992 to 2004. I have this in the hands of the Financial Ombudsdman but cannot understand how 1 part can pay out and the other not !0 -

Yes you can write to them at CPP Group plc, Holgate Park, Holgate Road, York YG26 4GA. You need as much info as you can but see the template letter Martin Lewis has on the MSE site as to what to put. You need to tell them why you think you were mid-sold too. You can ring them also on 01904 733649 asking for customer relations and, as they are always engaged, you should be given an email address which is obviously better and quicker. I was lucky enough that the lady I got yesterday took the details from me and passed it over to customer relations. My sister was given an email address.0 -
