I will also post in the PPI page but wanted to update before I do.
After my phone call last week from an RBS representative I was told I would receive a letter in the mail... It came today
It goes a little something like this...
Dear Ms C...
Your PPI Policy with RBS CC....
We are pleased to advise you that we have now finished our review of your complain regarding PPI policy. Having reviewed the information we have decided to uphold your complaint and offer you the following:
OUR OFFER Net of any income tax has been calculated at £1059.02
They sent me a break down of everything to be refunded including all the 8% and all. The letter states that any arrears will be paid off from this redress, I do have a balance on my credit card which is paid on time each month, so not sure if they will use this money to pay some of the cc balance off or whether they will send it by cheque as although it' s a balance I am not in arrears and pay regularly on time. Hey ho, good news and I'm chuffed:TThriftkitten

This may sound like a daft question or two to some but here goes..
I just got around to filling in my two CPP voting forms. It says to return them in the per-paid envelopes, which is fine, but I notice they are second class post.
I would rather them go first class or better still registered. Will it make any difference if I stick a first class stamp on them or will it automatically revert to second class? I am thinking it's a bit too close to Christmas for second class and the post being busy.
Or can I send them registered/recorded ?0 -
Just send them in the pre-paid envelope, you can get proof of posting from the Post Office if you continue to be worried.
Don't send them registered or recorded.0 -

RoRo67 wrote:Hello fellow CPP & Ex-CPP Policy holders,
I have an issue whereby I took this CPP policy out in 1993 via the Abbey National (now Santander) and I ended it in 2008 due to unauthorised access of funds over the Christmas period in 2007 (causing much distress and no funds over xmas).:(
When I informed CPP of the unauthorised access, the reply was to 'inform my bank and cancel my card' (which I had done prior to calling). Once VISA had refunded the stolen funds, I realised that this policy was a waste of time and money so I cancelled it in early 2008 as well as moved bank.
Ok wrote a letter to Santander explaining the above and received multiple copies of the same reply posted over different dates LOL.
Santander say the issue is with CPP and they will forward on the details to them. <Don't think so!>
It was Abbey who sold me the CPP and NOT CPP as it was the teller in Abbey that brought the whole scheme to my attention back in 1993.
Waiting to hear what's next..although I do feel that this could be a runaround scenario in the making..
All I want is the compensation from 1993 - 2005 as the CPP redress will take care of the 2005 - 2008 era.0 -
I have had a policy with CCP from 2000 until this year but have never received any notification from them regarding the scheme. I telephoned them this morning, and they've advised me that I am not eligible to be part of the redress because it seems I was introduced through a company called Creation Financial Services who are not part of the compensation scheme. I have just found the original Welcome letter from CPP which confirms this, unfortunately. Though, I have to say, I had no idea that I ever had any kind of financial relationship with this introducer, I thought my policy had been taken out either via my bank or credit card company. Since the original form was completed I have only ever dealt with CPP which is interesting. I wonder if the introducer has received commission every year since the policy inception and has then failed to 'man up' when it's all gone wrong?
I also wonder how many other CPP policy holders are prevented from having a say because of this?0 -
My letter has instructed me to complete the form and return using the enclosed pre-paid envelope - if only they had enclosed it!!0

I wonder how the voting has gone as the voting closes tomorrow.
Also see that the court case is (or was) due for less than 2 weeks time.
I'm still not clear on the criteria to be 'successful':
If the majority of policyholders vote in favour of the scheme it will then need to be approved by the Court. It is intended that a Court hearing will take place at the High Court of England and Wales on 14 January 2014 to consider the scheme and eligible customers may attend this hearing if they wish.
Does the bit in red mean policy holders in total or only policy holders who respond. And is it just a 50% tipping point?
All very weird to me.

Hi
Bit confused with all this cpp reclaim business - but i've tried..
Took out my cpp back with first direct back in 1998.
anyway i've filled out the first direct form to make a claim for it being mis-sold etc. to first direct and this has been rejected by them - final rejection for clarity. - so do I have to go to the financial ombudsman to get my 1998-2005 money back from first direct if i am entitled?
my understanding is that i can claim back approx £30 per policy year between 1998 - 2005 from first direct ... so that's ball park £200 from first direct and cpp themselves 2005 to present = £400-500 ish total
CPP have told me themselves to do nothing until the result of the vote and if all goes to a "yes" vote they will then send out claim forms...
I've not made a claim on my cpp card protection policy ever.
CPP have also said i don't need to vote in order to make a claim either before or after the vote.
Can someone confirm if what i am thinking/doing is correct?
Many thanks in advance.

I misread the date for return of vote as 14th rather than 3rd Jan.
As its now too late to return my 'yes' vote does this really matter, as the letter states that compensation will be paid (if entitled) regardless of whether or not one votes?0
