"If you're on broadband pay as you go the allowance you have is free to use abroad"
Yes, now can you buy any Three micro or nano SIM (last minute purchase at UK departure airport for example) then load it up with the 'right kind' of credit, not 321 plan of course, to use data, pay as you go mobile broadband, in the 7 Like Home countries?
Just try getting that confirmed on the Three website!
Why this new post? It has been confirmed. 3/2/1 is not an inclusive data allowance, but a tariff. An added package is an inclusive allowance.0 -

Not any SIM. A voice SIM or a data SIM depending on whether you want to use it in a phone or a dongle/mifi/tablet. This seems to be where some people are getting confused.
If you buy a voice SIM, you can use the tariff (including 321) or package (incl. PAYG add-ons) as if at home. But tethering is specifically excluded and data is limited to 25GB even where the 'home' package allows tethering or unlimited data.
Officially they do not allow a voice SIM to be used in a data only device i.e. dongle, mifi or tablet and will try to detect and block such usage. I have no idea how successful they are.
If you buy a mobile broadband or data SIM for your dongle/mifi/tablet, you can use the tariff or data bundle as if at home. The 321 tariff and unlimited data packages are not available on a data SIM, so obviously they can't be used in a Feel At Home country either.0 -
However no good in Australia I am told by someone who signed up to this package specifically for their month long trip that started last Sunday, only to find that Three in Australia went bust about 3 weeks ago so its of no *!*! use to them!

Now they are there they are told Three Australia no longer exists so cant use the 'package'.
They run a VERY successful company between them so doubt they are not understanding what they're being told.
Also the trip is to visit grown up son who is resident there and he confirms Three Australia no longer in business.0 -
3 didnt go bust in Australia, their network was integrated into Vodafone's network on the 30th of August. They had previously operated as a 50-50 joint venture.
It shouldn't make any difference to their new roaming deal though.0 -
So why are they being told the deal is invalid?:o0

You've been told something wrong.
It'll work in Australia just fine.0 -

Oh I see you're starting this up on this thread as well
Three AU did not go bust. Three and Vodafone merged 4 years ago, as I and others have said, and this shutdown has been planned and notified for some time.
Furthermore Hutchison has not left Australia; Vodafone Australia is still owned jointly by Vodafone and Hutchison.
That would suggest to me that if Three UK (owned by Hutchison) says Feel At Home in Australia, they are probably organised enough to have arranged this on a network which the group 50% owns0 -

With respect you might wanna check your facts before posting a lot of tosh about Three going bust in OZ.
In any case where does it suggest they have to use Three in Oz or anywhere else they currently cover in the offer.
"What do I need to use Feel At Home?
You don’t need to do a thing. It all happens automatically as soon as you arrive in an eligible country. Just wait for your phone to pick up any local mobile network and you’re good to go."
