Just had the Lidl newsletter and it looks like the hamper sellophane is coming soon. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-19FFE64E-C1AA8F12/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=7489
Forgot I bought some last year. I found it today. I bought silver, gold and red. The silver is very pretty-hard to tell on the roll. It's 5m on each roll and I think last year was 99p a roll too.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

best suggestions for baskets please.
im doing two hampers this year and have most of the goodies except some of the food items and am ready to start putting things together.

Hello!
I am making quite a few hampers this year. Some with home-baked things and some with some items I've pinched from here!
The first one I have finished is for my sister and her boyfriend. My sister has an allergy and her boyfriend is very healthy so the usual selection box stuff wouldn't be suitable. I've bought dairy free chocolate pudding, oatcakes, organic chocolate, soya desserts, special flavours of herbal tea, avocado oil and lovely chilli pastes. It came to around £20 for the contents and I bought a lovely hamper box from Lakeland for £5. Maybe not the most mse style of hampers but none the less I am pleased as punch0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm making a few hampers this year for the first time. Struggling for ideas but this is what I have so far. Any suggestions welcome...
8 year old niece - Things to keep her occupied hamper

- Any other ideas/suggestions what to put it in? Wasn't sure a basket was very child friendly/exciting.
1st Christmas hamper
- Cute outfit
- 1st Christmas bauble
- Photo frame? Too done?
- Struggling now!
Couples hamper - Sister & brother in law
- No idea really stuck on this one!
Luxury hamper for a couple
- Afternoon tea / snowdrops tour tickets
- Bettys chocolates
- Cheese
- Biscuits
- Home made bread
- ...?
Parents in law hamper
- Sweet things - His dad likes cake
- Some home made smellies for his mum
1st year in own house
-Not sure where i'm going with this one yet..
Would love any ideas to help pull these together a bit more or themes. Also interested to here about ideas of how to package them up other than just wicker baskets xxPay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0 -

could pop it all in a coloured plastic container which could be used for storage afterwards? Or a bin for her bedroom, wilkinsons have some nice designs.
How about a pack of plain tshirts or bag and some fabric paints so she can design her own stuff?

as it's there first year in there house they may already have everything so I would see if there's anything they don't, ie if they don't have a slow cooker, get one add a book of slow cooker recipes, some ingredients? Or maybe do a curry based one, hamper basket being a big pan add spices, recipe book etc or Chinese hamper basket being the wok, etc etc etc
Would love any ideas to help pull these together a bit more or themes. Also interested to here about ideas of how to package them up other than just wicker baskets xx

Another hamper added to the list, either a Fireman Sam theme or Scooby Doo!
Anyone seen any bargains for either hamper? Looking for maybe a toy, book, DVD, pj's etc, although I will need to check with my SIL if he already has them
Finished my nephews Minecraft Hamper :T
Minecraft Annual - £5 amazon, paid for with a voucher so free :T
Minecraft tshirt - £9.99 Argos
Pringles x 2 - 98p each Morrisons
Pack of cola cubes x 2 - £2 Morrisons
Total spend £13.95
Ideally I would like to add another few things to it, like stickers or a poster. But they are really expensive! Need to remember that I've spent enough, it will look lovely packaged up, I don't need anything else! Can't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Thanks ever so much for the help. Tidied up my ideas now after reading the full thread so thought I'd share incase they are useful for anyone else...
Couples hamper for sister and brother in law - Afternoon tea / snowdrops tour tickets and lots of afternoon tea related goodies, served on the wicker serving tray from hobby craft.
1st year in house hamper - Yankee candle. cookies in a jar, Christmas toilet roll (aldi), home made cushion, home made sugar scrub.
Chocoate and cider hamper - This one needs more work but going to steal some of the ideas already mentioned for chocolate. The cider - this guy brews his own so having some waterproof labels printed for him to put on the bottles. Any other cider ideas welcome.
Thanks Carla Marie for the ideas too. Tshirt paints are an ingenious idea!! xPay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0 -
