I don't think this has been mentioned but I did a "pub in a box" for my brother, it was a jug of beer (from local brewery) crisps, pork scratchings, tankard, beer mats and peanuts. It was quite easy to put together and he loved it.

Consider this idea stolen by me for my secret santa at work, fantastic idea, flufyfifi!:T

    Thankyou
um well its for a lesbian couple, they are obbsessed with zombies so will most likely be a zombie film lol they like drinking but thought this would mean most of my budget gone. They spend most of there time in watching dvds anyway, erm cant think of anything else x

    Hi jkl123,
Okay, now let me get my thinking cap on.....A zombie movie, couple packets of popcorn and other snacks would work. Tell you what, the next time you are in the cinema, ask for extra popcorn boxes (to add to your hamper) when you buy yours, most vendors I've come across don't mind.

For the drinks, I got the feeling you weren't talking about soda water or soft drinks here, so the question is....beer, wine or spirits? If beer, a couple of bottles should be within the the budget.....a bottle of wine, too, should be within budget. If spirits, you are out of luck unless you belong to a club....even then, its expensive. Does anyone know if the free baileys giveaway is still on???

To bulk up the hamper, I would add on free cosmetics samples....:rotfl:
    Hope this helps:beer:
p.s. just checked, baileys giveaway is closed...

How about printing out a map from Google Earth of the area where they live, and then annotating it with escape routes, locations of weapons caches, safe houses, possible route of zombie invasion etc (all joke stuff obv).

Fill a small glass bottle with Skittles or Mint Imperials and label it as being "Cyanide Pills - to be used as a last resort in case of Zombie Invasion" or something similar

I have seen an ice cube tray in the shape of bullets (prob on eBay) - maybe you could get one and make a pack of chocolate ammunition?

Put in a couple of bottles of water, relabelled with a "drink in the event of zombie invasion" label.

Earplugs (so they don't have to listen to all the zombie moaning), plasters, energy drinks/bars, hand sanitizer.

One of those folding camping shovels. Emergency ration packs (ie those sachets of camping food you can get)

  • Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has posted on here for all the brilliant ideas! :D Just wanted to share with you all the completed "Tea Time" hamper I've put together for my Mum's birthday next week:
    IMG_2129_zps20fca3f3.jpg

    Contents include:
Matching teacup, saucer, side plate, t-bag holder, sandwich tray
    Co-ordinating tea-towels & teaspoons
2 x packets of posh biscuits
Packet of Green & Black's mini chocolate bars
Twinings t-bags: Everyday, Ceylon & Afternoon Tea (makes a change from her usual PG Tips!)
    Book of crossword puzzles

    Total cost: around £40-ish
Tray cost £9 inc P&P (with thanks to freyasmum for the link to Candigifts)

I've wrapped it up but I'm not too happy with the finish, luckily I have a few days to think again & re-do:

  • I have put together a bathtime pamper hamper for my partner, who has begun to see the joy from just relaxing in the bath rather than always grabbing a quick shower. He also adores the Vikings and popping candy - hence the inclusion of a few of the other items. :)

    tumblr_mv54qkHiqF1qbm5oto1_500.jpg

    Contents:
    - Dressing gown.
    - Slippers [off camera].
    - 2 hair/shower gels.
    - Radox muscle soak.
    - Bath pillow.
    - 2 Lush bathbombs.
    - Vikings by Neil Oliver.
    - 4 Viking rubber ducks.
    - 3 flannels.
    - Sponge.
    - Duck 'soap on a rope'.
    - Whittard's hot chocolate.
    - Popping candy chocolate orange.
Saved £20 off the RRP so I'm happy.

It proved to be a little difficult to get everything in lol... I decided to wrap up five of the items and used my duckie gift tags to write "witty" [I think they are anyway lol] hints on. Means he doesn't see everything as soon as he opens it and instead gets to open a few different things. :)

I didn't trust myself with cellophane and it has to travel some 60 miles, potentially in some sort of rucksack on the back of a motorcycle, so I figured wrapping it completely was the best way to do it... I wrapped the box itself, so when you open it, the entire thing is giftwrapped - rather than you ripping the giftwrap off and being left with a standard box [was money saving and reusing a standard cardboard box lol]. :)

    Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone has ideas for a swimming hamper? All I can think of is a towel with name on it (I am ok at sewing) limited budget as secret Santa!

    Thanks
£400,000 starting Jan 2020 current end date Aug 2041 I would love the end date to be 2027 but will aim first for 2037.
    1% target £4000 so far £20 paid
