im doing two hampers this year and have most of the goodies except some of the food items and am ready to start putting things together.
I don't really want to pay more than a couple of pounds for them.
Hi affordmylife
not sure what you mean....options other than baskets or best places to get baskets?0 -
Another hamper added to the list, either a Fireman Sam theme or Scooby Doo!
Anyone seen any bargains for either hamper? Looking for maybe a toy, book, DVD, pj's etc, although I will need to check with my SIL if he already has them
Finished my nephews Minecraft Hamper :T
Minecraft Annual - £5 amazon, paid for with a voucher so free :T
Minecraft tshirt - £9.99 Argos
Pringles x 2 - 98p each Morrisons
Pack of cola cubes x 2 - £2 Morrisons
Total spend £13.95
Ideally I would like to add another few things to it, like stickers or a poster. But they are really expensive! Need to remember that I've spent enough, it will look lovely packaged up, I don't need anything else!
I'm doing a mine craft hamper, I didn't think of cola cubes, that's a fab idea. I don't understand the Pringles though but I've never played minecraft. I'm also doing a blanket (green patchwork which hopefully should be quite cheap to do)
Scooby doo hamper:-
In home bargains they have scooby doo DVDs for £3
Scooby snacks (candy sticks) 79p
There a few toys there as well but not sure of the price
Tescos also have the DVDs 2 for £5 I think
Hope that helps0 -

Sorry, the Pringles are just because he loves them, nothing to do with Minecraft!
Thanks for the Scooby Doo suggestions as well :TCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

Today, I was doing some tidying and found a little wicker basket from a giftset someone bought me years ago. Never used the contents [have uber sensitive skin, so it just worth the risk], which have gone in the bin because of how old they are, but the basket I have kept. I also found some shredded tissue paper - not sure when I bought that, again it will have been ages ago. Then I had an idea - I have put a few things I had got for my mother together into a little hamper. Think it looks pretty decent - just have to decide if I am going to try the whole cellophane thing or opt for something less scary now.
Love Etc Parfume 30ml - RRP £7.50 - Paid £3
Love Etc Body Butter - RRP £13 - Paid £3
Brazil Nut Beautifying Oil - RRP £9 - Paid £2.70
Organic Chocolate Mulberries - RRP £1.29 - Paid 45p
Candle - RRP £1.50 - Paid 0p [my old hoarding habits paying off!]
Incense Cone/Stand - RRP £3 - Paid 0p [my old hoarding habits paying off!].
Total RRP £35.29. Total Cost £9.15 [esp as the basket and tissue paper was just lying around too].
That isn't her only present - she has a few other things - so I don't have to feel too guilty at the savings made. I think it looks quite good. Definitely liking the hamper idea - I suspect I will be doing more next Christmas.0 -
Hi
This thread is great!! Has given me some great ideas and so far for Christmas this year I have made a baking hamper for my great niece, two dvd/pamper hampers for my nieces, will be making a gold pot for my nephew and then finally an alcohol hamper for my inlaws.
Thanks for the heads up on the cellophane from Lidl, my MIL picked me two rolls up this morning.
Will be posting my pics on the pics thread once Ive finished.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post ...my pound land had the christmas theme cellophane bags in yesterday and were selling fast( white dots with pale blue ribbon) I've been looking out for these for a while they were with the christmas stuff too not where i found them last year with the pink flowery bags on the birthday aisle. I've been browsing these pages and the ideas and hampers are incredible, it's certainly inspired me to try my own - I've got some ideas for a few different people but I have one friend who is going to Australia for a 3 week holiday, going to the Ashes and staying with a friend of hers.....does anyone have any ideas of what I could put into a hamper for her? Bearing in mind she will probably already have the usual holiday essentials? I think this may be a difficult one and will probably stick to a "normal" hamper for her if I can't think of any Oz related ideas - thank you for any responses xx£2 coin saver - £0 started 09/10/060
