Hmm, I never thought of that :(

I like the blow up pillow idea though, that's going on my list, thank you :)

Zepsgal and minimad1970 - couple of ideas for your chocolate themed hampers
Chocolate lovers wine - they sell it in Sainsburys and co-op
Chocolate calendar for 2014 - last year I had one of those 'page a day' mini calendars that was chocolate themed
Book - either chocolate recipes or fiction - The Lovelist Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan or Chocolate lovers club by Carole Matthews are both chick lit books I've read and enjoyed.

I love the theme you're doing, perhaps I should drop some hints to family about what a great idea this is

Picked up a few bit for my hampers at Poundland -

A cocoa oil in a box, think its like a Bio-Oil
4 Wispa hot chocolate sachets for £1
Cocktail accessory pack, with neon straws, mini umbrellas and neon stirrers

Meant to look for ice cube trays!

Thanks for the book suggestions Luckystar, I will take a look at them :)

Loving all of these ideas. Hope you don't mind me joining!

I'm not doing hampers for everyone, but I have a couple in mind.

For the father-in-law and his girlfriend... an "Afternoon tea" hamper. Going to go for a budget of £20. Not got anything yet, but hoping to get:
    Bottle of prosecco
    2 x mugs
Nice tea bags / selection of teas
    Bag of nice coffee
Florentines / posh biscuits / biscotti
Caramel waffles (seen this in aldi)
    Hot chocolate stirrers
    Scones
    Jar of jam
    Potentially clotted cream
Selection of dried fruit / nuts / nibbles.

Can you think of anything else?

One other potential is a small hot chocolate hamper for brother in law and wife:
    tub of hot chocolate
    hot chocolate stirrers
    toppers such as marshmallows etc

    Not sure what else though?!

And then the other is a Slimming World hamper for my friend that does SW:
    SW recipe book
Few packet foods that are 'free' on the plan
Then little treats like mini chocolate bars, low cal crisps etc.

What do you think? I think she'd like it, and I know her well enough to give her something like this!

I got some mugs last year, I'm sure from Morrisons, a nice tall mug with Santa and Rudolph on them. They were very Christmassy, you could maybe find something similar? X

I'm looking for stuff for my 'advent' hamper for my daughter.

    I currently have:

advent calendar (ciate mini mani, not sure who'll be most excited about that one :A :D)
Story book - christmas stories, and the night before Christmas (currently around £2 on amazon, includes cd)
    Her elf
    Hot chocolate
Pretty mug (new one again this year as her old one got broken)
    Santa stop here sign
    Santa claus: the move
Elf - one of the best christmas movies ever :D
    Christmas activity books

I might put a few sweets in there cos her advent calendar doesn't have any.

I'm going to make one for my nephews too. On year, I wrapped them up in red tissue paper and then cellophane and drew a reindeer face on brown card. Was great fun :p

Does anyone else have any ideas? :)

Thanks for the ideas re. The pulling hamper! Some great ideas!

For the lemon hamper, what about lemon scented candles, room mist, maybe even make some lemon decs (drying lemon out in oven tying up with string, maybe adding cinnamon), could make lemon biscuits. If they drive, one of them smelly tree things for their car. Could even pop in a bottle of lemon fairy liquid for a jokey gift

Something to do with Keith lemon, book/DVD or magnets/key rings. I presumed They are fans of Keith lemon as to why you are doing a lemon themed one. Or am I really far off the mark?

    This made me laugh!

I'm not sure if this is the cheapest it can be found - I was searching for something else - but it looks brilliant.

What about chapstick?ive seen coca cola ones in primark I think?

Coca cola chapstick is the best I've used! Next to benefit lipscription (which they don't make any more :( ).

It's down to 62p in tesco right now. I think they might be stopping selling it because it sould be £2.75, then was £1.30-ish, and now 61p. Be quick!

I'm getting my thinking cap on, planning on doing a few hampers for my family.

Sister 1 - Chocolate hamper, maybe a chocolate and orange hamper? So chocolates (of course!), a chocolate orange, chocolate body butter, chocolate hand cream, maybe a notebook if I can find a brown or orange one? This hamper needs some work!

Sister 2 and BIL - Paris hamper? Maybe just a Travel hamper? His and hers passport covers, maybe an eye mask, boiled sweets, travel guide... Again, needs some work!

Sister 3 and BIL - Night in hamper. Bottle of spirits, probably vodka, ice cube tray, cocktail glasses, some cocktail accessories...

Nephew aged 8 - Minecraft hamper :) Minecraft annual, keyring, tshirt, maybe maybe a foam pick axe if I can get one under £20 :rotfl:

Dad and his girlfriend - Maybe a foodie hamper? Not 100% sure yet about the joint present for them  Oatcakes, jams, marmalade, wine, chocolates... Maybe :)

    Any suggestions welcome!

You can get chocolate orange spread too :D chocolate orange segments are £2 in tesco and actual chocolate oranges ( all varieties) are £1 in sainsburys.

Hi, new to this this year!!

What is everyone using as their actual hamper? I've been on the look out for wicker hampers, but can't seem to find any?

    Thanks

    I usually use CANDI GIFTS

I'm pretty sure they're wholesale, but they're brilliant.

But it depends what the actual hamper is for -
A kids hamper could be made up in one of those clear craft boxes.
A movie night hamper could be put into a (bought or made) popcorn style box.
A baking hamper could be wrapped in the mixing bowl itself.

Also, for kids hampers just now, Tesco have kids dvds 2 for £5. It's not the most up to date films, but there should be some that should suit :)

To start off with, the afternoon tea hamper sounds delicious:D, I'm sure your FIL and his girlfriend will love it. How about a book/recipe book for tea making. I have seen a couple on Amazon or you could print out recipes and make a book of sorts yourself. Other than that, I think you have the perfect gift.:T

You could go crazy on the chocolate hamper idea.....There are dozens of items with chocolate in them. The question is do you want only edibles or a mix of non perishable items in the hamper. Once you decide, I believe MSE'rs would be able to help you get a fab hamper put together.
