Nelly11 I did virgin cocktail hampers for my nephews last yr & they want down really well.
Got a coca cola tray as hamper base and a cocktail shaker with stuff in from pound shop then bought couple of packs of small btls of lemonade & cola kept 1 of each for each hamper then drank a few of them washed and refilled with different colours of dilute juices and stuck a label on btls ie jakes bar
    few straws, stirrers etc.
kept boys busy for quite a while experimenting with different flavours etc
  • Hi All,

I'm so proud of myself. I am about 50 -59% done with my shopping (This is way ahead of schedule for me:rotfl:).

    Two things bugging me though.....

    1. I decided I needed a box hamper like the one below for my hampers for my sisters and their families. I can't find this type of box with the cut away display front anywhere in the shops near me. MSE'rs please help!!!!!

    2. My rhyming is not on yet (I may have to put on a CD of Christmas music to get in the mood :)) but I find myself thinking of what kinds of verses/poems would go with my hampers. Is anyone working on theirs? Could you share because I need inspiration?
  • Can someone please link the Finished hampers pictures thread please as I can't seem to find it! Maybe I just can't see the wood for the trees!

I'm getting my thinking cap on, planning on doing a few hampers for my family.

Sister 1 - Chocolate hamper, maybe a chocolate and orange hamper? So chocolates (of course!), a chocolate orange, chocolate body butter, chocolate hand cream, maybe a notebook if I can find a brown or orange one? This hamper needs some work!

Sister 2 and BIL - Paris hamper? Maybe just a Travel hamper? His and hers passport covers, maybe an eye mask, boiled sweets, travel guide... Again, needs some work!

Sister 3 and BIL - Night in hamper. Bottle of spirits, probably vodka, ice cube tray, cocktail glasses, some cocktail accessories...

Nephew aged 8 - Minecraft hamper :) Minecraft annual, keyring, tshirt, maybe maybe a foam pick axe if I can get one under £20 :rotfl:

Dad and his girlfriend - Maybe a foodie hamper? Not 100% sure yet about the joint present for them  Oatcakes, jams, marmalade, wine, chocolates... Maybe :)

    Any suggestions welcome!
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

The Source do a Chocolate shower gel
SuperDrug do a Chocolate dry shampoo ( for dark hair)
Nivea do a Chocolate lip balm.
Montagne Jeunesse do a chocolate face mask.

You know, I have used all of those apart from the Nivea in the last few months!! Why didn't I think of them? :rotfl:

Brilliant, thank you for the suggestions! :T

How about Carex hand wash chocolate orange 250ml or Nestle Matchmakers in the orange flavor? Both are available at Tesco....:). For something to drink, Baileys would be a good option

Hey zepsgal, I was browsing through and read this. Sorry if I am going over old ground but my mum bought my hubby and I these for a wedding hamper she did us, I loved them and put or passports in them all nicely.......only to be told by customs at the airport that they always have to be taken out to be scanned and inspected :(. Needless to say taking them in and out is a pain so I don't use them any more. Some nice luggage tags and an inflatable pillow would be great though! :)

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D
