It's a non-religous way of welcoming a child. A christening without the church service.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

The trouble is, it is quite an imposition giving something you have made and assuming they will love it as much as you do.I would never sell homemade items as that is mean after someone has taken time and love over them.
I make stuff, I no longer give them as presents unless someone specifically tells me they love it.
I am actually sympathetic to how the OP feels, I am just talking generally about the whole expectations and pressures around presents in our highly materialistic culture where many are overwhelmed by too much stuff in their homes that clutters up space and the mind and people can feel trapped by the guilt associated with gifts they don't want.
The love from someone is in the act of giving, not the physical embodiment of the item.
For the record, I have never sold any gift I have been given:D I pass them on to our local hospice shop.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Is it just your gifts she is selling OP? Or has she sold all her collections?
I, personally, would have thought she was simply decluttering. How long do we have to keep gifts? This is the reason I prefer usable gifts. No need to hang on to empty bottles of toiletries or even chocolates!0 -

Yes I would much prefer that.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

I noticed a hell of a lot of gifts I have given her sold on ebay bracelets, things she collects and travel smellies as she goes away a lot. Doesn't seem like she sells much else other than a few books. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

The Internet can be a wonderful thing but in the 'olden days' you couldn't 'spy' on people as easily as you can now...
Checking up on what a friend is selling on eBay is a little bit obsessive... Would you follow her to a car boot sale and go through her things?
Then, when you're not happy, instead of just having a quiet chat, you want to raise the subject on Facebook or by text?
Whatever happened to friends just talking?:hello:0 -
If you want to treat your friend why not take her out for a a coffee?
My friend is going to be checking our house while we are away on holiday, and I know that she has far to much 'stuff' already.
Instead of buying a present to thank her, I'm buying her coffee and cakes when we meet before I go on holiday and again when I come back.
She'll enjoy that far more than having a present she doesn't really want or need.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I wasn't checking up, I was buying my brothers xmas present and spotted it. Like I have explained previously.
I'm annoyed about it I feel like I want to shout about it, guess I need to calm down and wonder if she is a friend at all.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Just out of curiosity, as you inadvertently came across her listing and became angry and upset, how do you think your friend would feel if she inadvertently came across this thread where you tell strangers about her death row boyfriend, extravagant holiday, calling her a c*w etc...?
Just wondering?0
