I like the second one. Definitely not too poofy! Although mine is a big princessy type bottom so I'm not sure I'm unbiased!
The design is really striking on the second. I prefer the slightly darker purple too.
I went and collected my wedding ring today! Love it! I do not want to have to wait until July to wear it!0 -
Rings, lovely!! We've not started looking yet, I keep seeing some nice ones, but undecided yet.
He's not sure what style yet, and keeps asking me what I think, but he's the one that has to wear it lol0 -

Hi everyone. I'm having my wedding this year also! The big day is July 12th. (first one on this thread, i believe?)
We're actually already married. We got hitched last February in South Africa in a really small and ugly registry office with just my wife's mum and brother, so we're going to be having a proper ceremony and party in London with all our friends and family!
So far, not much has been booked. we have:
- Wife's outfit (she bought a new wedding dress)
- Wedding band (some friends of our have put a band together especially for us, and are doing it for free. we just need to pay for any equipment the need to hire in)
- DJ (again, this is a friend who works as a DJ and is doing it for free)
- Date
That's about it! we still need to sort:
- Venue (argh!!!)
- Ceremony conductor (or whatever it's called!)
- Decorations
- Buying the bubbly
- My outfit
- find a caterer
- ...and i'm sure there is more besides!
This is our second attempt at this, we had to call off a planned party in September last year, but we're determined to make it this year!
There are some things i'm not decided on yet though, one of them being my outfit. I really can't stand suits so am refusing point-blank to wear one on my wedding day (why should i feel uncomfortable on the best day of my life? it doesn't make sense!), but that has left me in a dilemma as to what i will wear. I don't mind wearing a shirt, but no tie or suit jacket. Both me and wife are massive rock and metal fans so that gives us some freedom to be a bit creative.
Since this thread is full of brides, can you please let me know what is this obsession with chair covers???? I don't get it. whenever you sit on them, they move, you can't put your feet UNDER the chair and they just get in the way. so again, what is the point of them???Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015
Current debt total: £32,756.02 (as of 1st March 2018)
Date Free Date Aim: Summer 2019 (8 extra months needed)

As a venue dresser and also a July bride I feel I'm best suited to answer this!!!! Most venues have either ugly chairs or chairs that have padded/coloured sections that don't match the colour scheme. Some brides aren't bothered others are!! I've dressed both really ugly chair and also lovely chairs but brides seem to like it all to look uniform. If a chair cover is the right one for the chair you should be able to sit comfortably and get your feet under the chair, It also shouldn't be too long so that you can trip over it lol, it's a choice thing but not everyone bothers lol0 -

I prefer the first one by the way, lighter look and more minimalist design.
I guess that was your first choice? Go with it. Our first gut choices are nearly always the right ones.0
