I'm Mrs S S to be, I'd love to show you all my dress but unfortunately I can't as S S will see it too! It's 10 months today (not like I'm counting) and yesterday we officially booked the photographer, we are having a backdrop at our reception like a centrepiece and he'll be there to take pictures, anyone can have a picture taken in front of this backdrop. Unlimited pictures which will be printed straight away, think of it like a photo booth but with an actual photographer
As Mr S S said we've sorted an awful lot out, which is mainly due to the fact we've been engaged for so long I think. I think we've saved an awful lot of money doing it that way.I Miss You Dad 1948 - 2016

I've just booked a candy floss cart and sweet table! Eek! So excited!
I am totally on the wrong forum here! On the other hand though the MSE website has saved me money so I can afford the wedding I want!
That's so cool! I really want a crepe stall but I'm just not sure there isn't going to be too much food as it isMarried 30/08/14 :heartpuls0 -
When I saw it, I just loved it! We were going to have an ice cream bike, but I've seen quite a few of them and never seen the candy floss before. They different flavours of candy floss too which is fab!
I think we're going to get some big lawn games for when the room is being turned around. I'd really love to have a big game of rounders but h2b isn't sold on the idea! Haha!0 -
10 months today for me
Still feels like its so long away though! Like it will never get here...0 -
I'm a July bride. 26th to be exact.
I've sorted the following
Dress and shoes - just hope I can walk in them lol
8 x bridesmaid dresses
1 x page boy kilt
Best man, groom and father of groom Kilt.
Father of bride and ushers suits.
Venue is village hall
Wedding is at registry office.
We own vintage vw's so don't need cars
Catering sorted for both day and night.
Save the dates sorted but I do still need to make actual invites
I still need to buy wine, I'm waiting a good deal or glitch at tesco!!
While buying and researching for my own wedding I have bought a chair cover wedding venue dressing hire company, complete with 30 existing bookings. It was practically being given away so couldn't resist. If anyone needs venue dressing in west midlands, Worcestershire, Staffordshire or Shropshire let me know. Bargain prices very mse!!, I'd be happy to help anyone if I could, weddings don't need to be expensive0 -
I'm also getting married 26.07.14! Seems to be a popular date!
We are planning on making as much as we can ourselves to make it more personal (and save money too :rotfl:). We got engaged 28th June and made a large dent in the organising over the summer.
So far we have:
- booked the venue and registrar
- sorted out food+drink but there may be changes as the package offered isn't exactly what we want
- made and sent save the dates (and save the eve. we both work in education as do a lot of our guests and I didn't want people to book holiday's without knowing about the wedding first).
- made a mock-up of the day and evening invites, just need to sit down and spend an afternoon putting them all together
- made a mock up bridesmaid dress (will not make them properly until Easter due to planned weight changes!)
- started making place name/favours
- started collecting decoration items (mostly free)
- booked photographer
- found a local jeweller who will make our rings bespoke for a reasonable price
- Fiance is in charge of entertainment and this is almost booked
- Bought suit and shoes for him
- Bought dress and veil for me
- Booked chair covers on a great deal!
I'm so excited about our big day! Back to work now so planning and organising will slow down quite a bit I think!0 -
I won a £200 voucher for suit hire at a wedding fayre today! So happy! They also had an offer where the entire suit package (suit, waistcoat, tie, and shirt) we're all for £60. We only need 4/5 suits so the voucher almost covers the entire cost of this! Woohoo!0

Congrats MissTeach that's great!
OH is still debating whether he wants to hire or buy a suit. I want to keep my wedding dress so cant really deny him keeping his suit, wish I won something like that would be perfect!
Enjoy it, hope you find something nice!0 -
My OH wasn't too bothered about keeping his suit and I can't imagine my dad and brothers really wanting to buy one.
He doesn't know what style he wants yet so needs to go in sometime after xmas and try on different styles to see what suits him. This is a huge help though!0 -
I've said to OH that I'd like a suit with some tails, he doesn't have to wear a top hat, I'm not that old fashioned, but I think the suits with tails look really nice.0
