I like tails too, but not sure how they will look on him as he's not overly tall! I like the top hats but I'm pretty sure my dad will refuse to wear one! He already told me he doesn't want a penguin suit, but I've just decided he can wear what I tell him!

My mum and dad are divorced and are already causing me problems with the top table and I have no idea what I'll do on the morning of the wedding as they just can't be around each other.

Love it, I did this to my OH, I relented on the hat, but he's wearing tails no arguments lol, he's 6'2 so it will look really nice on him, he wore some as best man for his brother so there's no way he's getting out of them for ours!!

Besides men love dressing up more than they let on, especially once the compliments start flowing!

My invites turn up soon, cant wait to see them, slightly excited by little things going right lately :j

When are you sending out your invites? I'm not sure when to send them out.
I know what you mean about excited about things going right. Work can be a bit stressful so planning and organising this is like therapy!

I'm just waiting for ours to arrive at the moment, once they arrive I'll send them all out though. I've put on them we'd like R.S.V.P by 30th November though so we can sort out catering etc.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the wedding party will show up as it's only close family which is around 20 people in total (with kids included). It's just the evening folks I'm not sure about.

We haven't bothered with Save the Dates, so thought it best to just send out the invites once they were ready.

Has anyone decided on their menus yet?

OH suggested a roast as its the "done thing", but I don't want one as don't like roast and don't think it's ideally suited to a summer menu.

Have complete flexibility over what we have so no suggestions there! Only definite is no BBQ as we're having one the night before!

I thought invites didn't usually go out til around two months beforehand? Or is it as combining with save the dates?

We're having a BBQ for ours, we've loads of vegetarians (OH and his family for the most part) so it'll be buffet style food with the main bits on the BBQ, we wanted to keep it very easy going and didn't like the idea of a 3 or 4 course meal for people.

As for invites being a bit early, I'm not sure, what is the norm on timings for them?

Can I join? We got engaged a month ago today and so far have booked the venue and have a meeting at the church in a couple of weeks time.

We are going for Sat 5th July! Have people sent out save the date cards yet? We are planning to as soon as we have been for our church meeting

I'm abit 50/50 on sending save the dates, I'm only having about 20 people at our wedding and the rest will be at the reception.

I was thinking of sending save the dates to the people coming to the wedding, and then save the evening type ones to the reception folk - not sure if they'd take offence to that or not though... weddings, their soooo political lol.

I think Save the dates can be sent whenever though, so if you want to send yours now it'd be fine.

Re. my invites, I've changed my mind on when I'm sending them now, I'm going to send out in Feb, and ask for replies by end of March, which is why I'm now considering the save the date/ evening cards.
