We haven't sent any save the dates out yet, we are 26th July.
Had another look at our budget today and realised we'd missed some things - oops.Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.

Really annoyed today, went into a bridal shop on my own as I was in town nearby, and essentially got ignored. It was all very Pretty Woman snobbery I'm sure (except I'm not a "lady of the night") and kind of wanted to say "are you even interested in my custom - I have money you know!!".
Half a mind to email the company and whinge, but then it's a small shop and I'd probably end up getting the person who was working and be ignored... v.annoyed at the rudeness though.0 -
Only just catching up on this. You definitely shouldn't stand for that Justengaged! You should have pulled out a wadge of cash and started fanning yourself in front of them!!
I am VERY excited! Have just booked my horse and carriage! Didn't think I was going to be able to have one but OH knew it's the one thing I really wanted and has said we can shift the budget round to accomodate!! Eek!
I've also managed to sort out various aspects of venue decoration and have sorted table decorations- all I need to add to them is a small amount of flowers to sit on the candelabras.
Have got a starcloth and balloon arch for behind the top table and a fairy light skirt to go around the cake table.
I'm currently in negotiations with a DJ and trying to wangle a LED dance floor down to within my budget!0 -
Haha, yh I should've done that.
Horse and carriage, nice. Those always look lovely, we're going for an open top old fashion car, well I say we, I actually mean I've Bridezilla'd him into it lol... trying to find a reasonably priced sporty car for him as he wasn't too impressed with my choice of vintage
We're quite lucky in that the venue we've got is already covered with flowers and ivy etc so decorations needed are minimal.
We still need to sort out a caterer, but the ones I'd seen said they included table linen which will help.0 -
Any updates ladies?
Been to the jewellery quarter in Birmingham today and bought my wedding ring! It's so sparkly! Can't believe I won't be allowed to wear it until July!!
OH can't decide on what he wants though although thinks he just wants something cheap like titanium.0 -
We met with the jeweller who made my engagement ring this week. He's designing me 3 rings, then emailing them to my oh. He's also making my oh's, which is going to be stainless steel. We live I'm Sheffield, both brought up here too so it's got sentiment as well as being a cheaper metal.
Going with tea towels for the invites. We aren't going to bother with save the dates anymore.Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.

Hi. I am getting married next July and hoped I was able to join this thread.
Our day it going to be very much a DIY affair. We're having a civil ceremony at a local country pub and I am doing my own flowers, favours, invites etc. I have bought my Maggie Sottero dress off ebay for £100 and have already bought the bridesmaids dresses in the sale from BHS at £20 each. My fiance has asked me to stop buying things for the wedding until after xmas now. Fair enough I suppose but I keep seeing bits and pieces I really want!:)Getting married Saturday 12th July 2014 :smileyhea

Its been manic at work and not had a chance to log on as much as I'd have liked, but welcome to Pinky!
I haven't managed to do much still, but I did see a nice dress online and took the plunge and bought it.... it was from one of the china websites so I was a bit worried, but it turned up and was actually so much nicer than I expected it to be. But, I saw another dress on eBay, which again was from a China seller, but as it was eBay I thought what the heck and bought that too, so I'm now stuck choosing between two dresses.... and I can't stop looking at other dresses online (I clearly have a problem).
I've got to sort out a nice under skirt as both of them have a train on them so they're just dragging on the floor frumpily at the moment, but I'm going to try and upload a picture.
Was hoping you guys could be brutally honest and say if either, or both look hideous though, I showed it to someone at work and they were really quiet while they looked at it, so I'm worried other people are thinking they're nasty, and I want to check I'm not being silly and getting something for the sake of it as there's still time to keep looking and I don't want to just settle on something.
First dress was the cheaper, and would need altering as it wasn't fitted as nicely so it looks quite bulky, but I'd get it taken in a bit.
The second dress was the more expensive of the two (still cheap as both from China), and the material is much nicer, it fits much better too, but I think I like the design of the first one more, but the fitting on it wasn't as good as this one.
I don't want to look like a fat meringue on the day, what do you guys think of them, are they too poofy at the bottom, and which one looks better (I'm still in process of losing weight so they will get tailored in to make up for that).0
