Highly recommended if you can stretch to £100
Ohh thanks for the link that's great. Unfortunately we're unable to even stretch that far at the moment but I will stick it on my amazon wishlist for when we can :T0 -
New carpet in my lounge - then another £4k to do the room just how I want it - sofas reupholstering, new curtains and rail, cast iron radiator, lovely new lamps and ceiling light and double glazing the original stained glass windowsPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

That's brilliant about the Kenwood Chef. I have looked a few times on Gumtree and never seen one. On ebay even the old ones seem to go for a lot of money.
It took a wee while for one to come up on Gumtree that was suitable, I just checked each week. I too thought that they were very dear on ebay.
Give Preloved a go too, there's a couple on there for £50ish today, although I would prefer to pay less than £50 and get more accessories.
Good luck:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
My boss gave me an old kenwood chef and I managed to set it on fire within a couple of weeks. I put some meatloaf in to mix, took a drink to oh in the garden, got back and the kitchen was full of smoke!
I would pay off my mortgage and buy a new car, or if I was pmsing I'd blow it all on designer clobber and fly off on holiday.0 -
More than about £1000, at this point it'd go in the house fund. If it was less, then maybe we'd treat ourselves to a holiday instead. Nothing too flash, just nice.0

A fitted bedroom. I really need more wardrobe and storage. Hubby has taken over the bedroom. He has two full wardrobes while my clothes are squeezed into one and it's really not fair!
He wears suits for work which need "space" so their not all creased and why he needs 40 shirts I'll never know.0 -
A lovely fancy caravan and a Land Rover to pull it (my hubby wants the latter, I want the former). We really like the idea of going on the road with our dog and our snail, we are in our 30's not our 60's

New kitchen. Unless I had enough ££ so that me and OH could move to a big house in the country!!
A 'proper' garage for OH. 2 floors. Bottom floor for his motorbikes/toys. Top floor for his gym/weight stuffs.
My dream car has always been an S3. OH has one so may have to make do with borrowing
I do rather love the Range Rover Evoque too. Would need to get it at a good price though
And laser hair removal. Already considering that with money I've savedWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Wow, some very different and interesting suggestions. Very interesting to see the sort of things we all need at different stages inour lives.
Well after posting this thread, we have found out today that our car is gubbed and is going to cost over £700 to fix. Now weighing up whether it's worth trying to fix it or just get a new one... Got it's mot and tax due in nov as well!

I spoke to OH about this thread last night and was really surprised by his unusually sensible reply :rotfl:
I was expecting him to say he'd [STRIKE]waste[/STRIKE] spend it on his sports car which is currently sat off the road.
What he actually said though was that he'd get our daily car fixed ready for it's MOT, spend some on my birthday gift and put whatever was left into his business.
Maybe my sensible approach to money is getting through to him0
