It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I'd love to pay off part of DDs mortgage! She was 'lucky' to buy in 2007 and in 6 months, thanks to our lovely bankers, was in negative equity.

New washing machine as my existing one is on it's last legs (got it secondhand and have had it a few years)

    A Kenwood Chef

Artificial grass in the back garden as my dog has destroyed the existing grass

A larger amount I would love a holiday abroad with OH - not necessarily that expensive - France or Italy would be nice

Even larger amount would love a camper van so we could travel round the UK

I got a 1980s Kenwood chef for £40 on Gumtree Catkins (with various attachments), although not a glamorous as the lovely new shiny models :)

I would definitely redo the horrible bodged bathroom that we have. It is grim. Also I would buy this pretty green blanket I have wanted for ages. And some new cutlery as we only have 3 spoons.

There is so much in this house that needs doing!

A lot of things - my poor house still looks neglected!

Sofas and curtains (and curtain pole for living room) (One sofa is 10 years old that i had in my student flat and needs a cover to look decent - other was given to me by an aunt and isn't in great condition and is fake leather that sticks to you!)
New Carpet and build in units for our bedroom (current carpet is ripped and has paint spilt on it!)
Mattress for spare bed so that guests can get a comfortable nights sleep
    Blind for Bedroom window.
Voile curtains for Kitchen Window (I do actually have the material for this - just have to make it!)
    A nice TV
A display unit for the living room

The only room I'm happy with is my kitchen and dining room!

Other things not for the house:
A few new clothes - nothing over the top, just a couple of things fro work and going out.

The main things i would love are things money can't buy
My husband with me during the week
    All my family healthy
6 months off work, I would simply love a break
Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.

That's brilliant about the Kenwood Chef. I have looked a few times on Gumtree and never seen one. On ebay even the old ones seem to go for a lot of money.

It wouldn't bother me how old it was as long as it worked. I have wanted one for a few years and, to be honest, we probably could afford one but it is such a lot of money to spend on one item which is not essential
