Hi; has anyone said prayers that came true that were perhaps more than a coincidence?

No. Nobody in the history of the world has. As there is no higher power anything that happens can only be coincidence.

I'm not an expert, but I'm fairly sure that an MRI can't tell you definitively that a lump or a growth is cancerous, just that it exists.

It just a 2D picture of a mass, you'd need a biopsy and histological analysis to know what the mass is actually made of.

As far as I know the MRI showed the lump had disappeared, the lump had been on previous MRI's and had grown. This was the MRI before treatment was to start. I'm no expert in any of this but I can't see that a lump would just disappear.

Give me a good doctor over a good priest any time..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Of course He knows what is possible but has allowed mankind to develop at our own pace.

And allowed people to die through diseases he knew how to Cure. God sounds nasty and sadistic. I wonder if he told his victims at the pearly gate that he could have saved them?

God if He wants can heal everyone and why some are healed and not others only He knows. Healing though comes in many forms, not just physical but emotional such as coming to terms with an illness.

Mankind has decided to go against God and that is why these things happen.

It boils my blood when people put medical successes, especially those against the odds, down to their prayers and god. Don't worry about the dedicated and highly skilled professionals who worked hard to save someone they didn't know. Don't worry about the decades of medical science that took place to get humanity to the point where it can defeat terrible diseases and disorders. No no no. It was prayer and god.

Did you miss the part where I said about the right doctor being on duty?

When I was 29 weeks pregnant, I was told that my son had an abnormality that would need surgery soon after birth. Three weeks later, following more scans, I was told that the doctors didn't think it was the abnormaility that they had told me about, but a different one. Either way, he would need surgery within a few days of birth to save his life. We (my ex husband and I, though married at the time) met a surgeon who explained everything. By this point, I was 35 weeks pregnant.

Three days later I went into labour. Despite being absolutely petrified of general anaesthetics, I had to have one as the umbilical cord was in the birth canal. It was an extreme emergency, and I had the needle as the dsoctors and nurses ran down the corridor. My son, when he was born, had both abnormailities and two others as well, resulting in his prognosis being very poor. The surgeon that we had met was not on duty, but others were. Thankfully, one of them had experience of operating on all four abnormalities, although nobody at Alder Hey had ever seen them all in one baby.

I believe that my prayers were answered because God ensured that my son was born at a time that this particular surgeon was on duty.

I do not see my son as damaged because he has Down's Syndrome, rather, I see him as he is - a happy individual, who has a number of health problems, but has a decent quality of life despite his difficult start.

I do not insult people who have other beliefs, nor do I insult those who do not believe at all. We all have a choice. Please don't insult me for making my choice - made independently as a teenager.

I've heard it all now. Why worship this cruel entity who punishes people who don't believe when there is zero, absolutely zero proof he exists. Why worship an entity that created our brains to give us the power to act with logic and reason then punish us for using it?

I tell you now if god was to appear before me in his glory right now I would refuse to worship him. My cat is more worthy.

If people don't believe then He gives them what they want, an eternity without Him.

You don't need to be insulting either. Yes we all get that you don't believe but that's no reason to put an animal above God.

I'm not the one who insinuated your child is damaged by the way.
For the record I'm delighted that things worked out for you that night and I truly wish you and your son the best.

You were lucky that night. I'm saddened to say that across the world there are many people at any one time going through similar experiences and despite desperate prayers are not saved. Those people are unlucky.

I'm sorry if you require further explanation as to why random events occur and things happen but I'm afraid there is none. You were lucky and that's it. You or your son are not somehow chosen to be in receipt of special heavenly favour but you got lucky and there's nothing wrong with that.
