Even if you believe that surely you put people above 'other' animals.
Interesting point but we'll have to disagree here. I could never think a fish as being as valuable as a human being. I presume you are vegetarian or vegan?

    .

    I am vegetarian, yes.

I don't have issue with people eating meat or not or believing there are fairies at the bottom of the garden so long as they don't try and push that onto others. (Hint hint.)

And if we don't we go to hell. That is not equal is it.

I may not believe you are going to heaven, but it doesn't bother me that you believe you are.

However, the fundamental difference is that I don't think you're condemned to go to a bad place because you believe. You think non-believers are.

It's hard for believers knowing that from their perspective good people will be seperated from them.

No I'm not, I eat meat. I do only eat locally sourced meat from a few select farms that I know are as ethical and humane as possible in their treatment of the animals, if I eat out I eat vegetarian. This doesn't mean that I don't value the life of the animal, eating other species and even cannibalism is a natural food source for millions of species.

Believing that all life holds value doesn't mean that the flesh of some is not a very good food source. But I'm the sort of person who also believes that if a tiger kills a human for food then they should not be hunted down and destroyed as they are only fulfilling a basic need for food, no different to humans keeping hundreds of cows confined to a shed leading a completely unnatural life just to feed us.

I totally agree with your reasoning as to animals being suitable as meat but I don't think that if I felt they were of equal value I would eat them.

Totally agree that a wild animal killing a person shouldn't be put down for doing what it needs to survive.

I understand that, but why does it have to be to hell, why not just accept that they're staying here on earth going back into the food chain? Surely that's doing god's work too?

I presume you are talking about what happens to the body after death? That doesn't deal with the soul though .

Yes I agree about medical successes being put down to god. My daughter was born last year at just past 24 weeks gestation and was incredibly poorly at birth as was my wife. Whilst my wife was in surgery I was sat next to my daughter whilst many wonderful doctors and nurses helped her live. For some reasonable a chaplain was called, I wasn't asked and I'm a confirmed atheist and he sat next to means told me that my daughter would be ok as god was looking after her! Except in my believe he bloody wasn't, the wonderful doctors and nurses who I can't ever thank enough were looking after her. The midwife who stayed with my wife throughout the night and the consultants and neo natal nurses who looked after my daughter for 17 week deserve all the credit, not some imaginary figure. Plus I always wondered if god does exist and controls everything that happens why has he chosen my daughter to go through such a difficult life, she's had many surgeries and will have life
    long problems - why her?

I can relate to this. I believe in God, but my twins were born at 22 weeks and didn't survive, despite having an army of people praying for them. I wish I had the answers. I can't stop believing in God, it's engrained in me, but I really don't understand why this should happen to anyone.

Ok, why does it HAVE to be heaven or hell for the 'soul', why no middle ground for good people who do not believe their 'soul' is going anywhere?

I'll add that to my list of questions for Him. :rotfl::rotfl:

Has it never occurred to you before though that there are good people that don't deserve to go to hell just because they don't believe?

Many times and I really wish it were different. That's one of the reasons I regularly pray for people I know who don't believe as the thought of them not going to be with God and I never see them again is very hard.

And people who appear good but actually aren't. Look at Mother Theresa!
