Where's the difference? At least my kitchen wall can be seen/touched/enjoyed by everybody!

If we're going to use that logic it should be noted that Lance Armstrong is an atheist.0 -
It boils my blood when people put medical successes, especially those against the odds, down to their prayers and god. Don't worry about the dedicated and highly skilled professionals who worked hard to save someone they didn't know. Don't worry about the decades of medical science that took place to get humanity to the point where it can defeat terrible diseases and disorders. No no no. It was prayer and god.
My thoughts exactly.0 -

See, you say 'logic' but...0 -
Back to the power of prayer.
There was an experiment carried out with people due to have heart surgery. Some were prayed for and were told they would be prayed for (group A). Others were prayed for and were not told they would be prayed for (group. Others were not prayed for (group C). There was no difference between the success of surgery (measured by survival rates and incidences of complications) in groups B and C. However, group A performed significantly worse, experiencing a greater number of deaths and complications. The researchers put this down to "performance anxiety" in that perhaps they thought "sh*t it must be bad if I'm being prayed for".
I'd look for a reference but I'm typing this on my phone...0 -

How exactly is that logic? What has Lance Armstrong being an atheist got to do with anything that was mentioned?0 -
As far as I know the MRI showed the lump had disappeared, the lump had been on previous MRI's and had grown. This was the MRI before treatment was to start. I'm no expert in any of this but I can't see that a lump would just disappear.
My OH was told a lump in his neck might be cancerous after an MRI scan and he needed a biopsy. The lump disappeared before the doctor could perform the biopsy. None of friends & family knew about his MRI scan results so there were no prayers for him. Sometimes the body can deal certain lumps without medical or divine intervention. The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0 -
