Does it really matter? I wouldn't change how I eat in public or at home why should I?
Your prerogative, as it is mine to choose not to sit and eat with pigs at a trough

Pigs are lovely intelligent creatures, shame their name is used as an insult. Im talking in general, not just about you calling someone a pig.0 -

Of course they are! One of my favourite creatures! But have you ever been present when pigs are actually eating? Hence where the term comes from
And why would you associate intelligence with eating habits? Surely that is more insulting

I am the chewer..My wife counted 43 chews on one mouth of food before i swallowed..
It winds my youngest up, but i can not stand to watch or hear ANYONE eat a bag of crisp...It makes me want to kill.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Its a big no no going by some threads on here in the past, however its what is comfortable for me, Im right handed but I always have my fork in my right hand.
Well you learn something new every day! I just assumed that everyone used their dominant hand to hold a fork or spoon when not using a knife?
A lad at work (who is right handed) holds his knife & fork as if he were a leftie, ie knife in left hand and fork in right, I've got to admit, it does look kinda weird!0 -

They don't realise how dangerous their actions are, do they!

If I get invited on a date, I always choose a restaurant. I judge a man by how he eats

quite funny reading this thread.. my OH's eating habit's drive me bonkers.. he doesn't shovel, in fact he eats quite slowly, but he chews with his mouth open, making these horrible gum-smacking noises which make me want to puke! He also talks with his mouth full, and gets up and takes his plate to the kitchen as soon as he's finished, even if I am still eating. I was brought up with very strict table manners, and as a result I dread every time we have to eat with my parents as I know they will be absolutely disgusted!!0

We were out for a meal a long time ago, DD (aged 5) and I had finished eating and we were all chatting while waiting for my now-ex to finish his meal [he often had difficulty swallowing so overcompensated by finely cutting up his food and eating very slowly ] when the waitress came over having spotted that DD and I had put our cutlery on the plates.
She scraped DD's gravy and leftover odds onto my plate, stacked the plates together and went to grab my ex's plate, saw that he was still eating so said "sorry, didn't know you hadn't finished", dumped the plates back right in the middle of the table and walked off!
DD then said in a very clear voice "so why didn't she just take our plates?"
Really wish I knew! When she came back to clear later, I asked her and she said that she couldn't clear while someone was eating. That's OK then. :doh:0
