My OH eats some food off his knife, I was always told to NEVER put your knife in your mouth, it horrified me at first!

Now the habit sometimes rubs off on me (only at home though...) :o

  • Just woman up and tell him! I despise smacking lips from eaters.....I just tell people if they do it whilst I am there because it is for me one of the most irritable bad habits ever

My DH seems to find it impossible to eat sweets quietly, he swishes them around his mouth and clacks them against his teeth, it's even worse if he's got headphones on as he can't hear himself! Sometimes I think he's doing it on purpose to wind me up, but he doesn't even realise he's doing it!

It grates right through me in the same way that nails down a blackboard do with other people  Even his mate commented on it!

When I first met my OH he used to shovel his food in, his mouth was that close to his plate he was almost bent double. I can laugh about it now though. I did tell him, I had no choice, and now he eats normally.

I'm not saying I don't do anything to annoy him, one of the worst things he hates is when I itch my tongue on my back teeth - does anyone else do that or am I the only weirdo!! (I don't o it very often though, maybe twice a month)

I hate it when people scrape their fork on their teeth! Bad eating habits are the pits aren't they.

I would just tell him to stop eating like a !!!!ing pig. Its revolting, and he's not getting any sex until he sorts it out

It can't be as bad as a landlord I had once whose diet seemed to consist entirely of bogies.

I think you need to discuss this with him. Keep it light hearted so as not to embarrass him, but clear enough so he gets the message. There is nothing worse than trying to sit and enjoy a meal with someone who has really bad table manners.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
