I wouldnt text saying Id need to rearrange anyway. Id just leave it at that, if someone changes their mind, they arent worth the few seconds it would take to send a text.

Well, I am good friends with a good proportion of my ex-es...I'm not the 'bitter and twisted just because you don't get a date' type.

Yes but this person wasnt someone who could be called a friend, she didnt know him, she hadnt met him, he cancelled on her, so it was clear from his text that meeting up was a no no.

Im just not sure Id have spent any time texting saying, I was doing something else anyway.

It was a definite date. Time and place arranged by him - not me.

I could bet it was not in the original post when I read it first. Must have.missed it. If it was as you say then yes , he is not theost considerate guy to say the least and you were right in asking .

    DUTR,
The other bit of my post was agreeing with you texting him back saying she would have had to reschedule it would been an attemt of wounded ego to save.the face easily seen through and because of it pathetic .
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

Not necessarily; often if I have arranged to meet up for a loose coffee and I can't make it I say 'I don't think I can make it' - doesn't mean I am never going to see the chum again...it just means something has come up.

Why do people have to take umbridge just because a person can't make a date; it's not the end of the world! Be cool about it and maybe - just maybe - someone might not think you are desperate and gagging for it. Acting like you've been promised a million and it's been swiped away by some cruel twist of fate is ludicrous. It's just a date.

Bearing in mind you can hardly string a sentence together - I'd steer clear of any texts to be honest.

    Now that's just plain rude.

Ah , ribena is on a roll today.
When I re read my messages I often either cringe or chuckle depending on my mood , apologies for all those typos , punctuation and paragraphs transported into wrong places.
In my defence I will say I posted on here today both while walking down Portobello road on a sunny day and while driving home from train station in the dark. I guess it shows how sad I am but that's the truth . Have you ever tried typing on a mobile while walking a mayhem of a portobelo on a sunny day when you can see nothing on a screen ? I believe I will soon be known on here as an endearing village idiot :D

  • There are loads on here that like to mention grammar/punctuation etc and also go off course with the initial question posted. I would much rather a genuine poster seeking advice who was illiterate than a rude saddo who is grammar perfect.

Rude Ribena = An illiteration :T see I remember some of my education.

    Alliteration you mean?
