To text or not to text? That is the question

I've posted here a couple of times recently. Had a few tough weeks but back on my feet again ready for another fall :rotfl:.

This last week I did a free 3 day trial on a dating website - thought I'd give it a shot. It was an experience but I did 'chat' to who I believe were 3 decent enough guys and we ended up swapping mobile/email etc.

One guy I've arranged to meet Sunday. We've exchanged a few texts since my trial has ended but I've heard nothing for a couple of days. Nothing's been said to suggest that Sunday is off but I'm not just going to turn up without some sort of confirmation first.

I'm not sure what to do. Do I do nothing and wait to see if he gets in touch? And I hear nothing then take it he's changed his mind? Do I text him - just casually not mentioning Sunday - or ask if it's still on? But I don't want to appear pushy.

What would you do?

I'd just send him a short text today asking if still on for tomorrow. I can't see anything wrong with that.

Also, make sure you tell someone that you're going to meet this guy and make sure it's somewhere public.

Yep pretty much this. Nothing wrong with a quick 'still on for tomorrow?' text. Good luck!

  • Agree with prawny.

Try to make the text light hearted.

    Good luck:)
  • P.S Well done on finding 3 possibilities in 3 days! Very good going:)
  • Agree with the others - "stll on for tomorrow at 1pm?" (or whatever arrangement made) couldn't be seen by any normal person as pushy.

Depends what you after. If you interested to find out how keen he is to see you then do not text. If you interested to see whether he has an offputting wart on his noseand fill your Sunday schedule than do text..
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

It could. If they did not agree anything and talked about an abstract one Sunday may be

Nothing more pathetic than an attempt to look cool while one is fretting on to text or not.

Did you see that programme on TV recently where employees of the dating websites set up bogus profiles to entice new members to sign up and pay? They get dozens of contacts when they first register but as soon as they hand over their money, nothing, ziltch, nada.

If you don't hear from your "date" he could be one of those.
