If you do not want to compete with Romanians for jobs - get your act together and get a better job yourself.

So you do not mind foreign doctors/nurses (NHS would be dead if not for them - I worked over 10 years in NHS so know this fact very well) but you do mind foreign road sweepers etc?

i am where i want to be - i just want a 0. 5% pay rise every 4 or 5 years

if we cant run a health service without stealing other countries health workers then something id very wrong

The person I was talking about never got another job. You can tell the company you are going to leave but how funny would it be when you don't and still get no pay rise.


Seriously to bale of this now you should count yourself lucky you have a job regardless of pay rise or no pay rise as the case may be. No one can really love a job that much if the lack of a pay rise is making you post on here about it.

Initially you may be the first, but with support from your branch or regional organiser you would recruit your colleagues, gain recognition and negotiate with the employer for a pay increase. Of course this will take some time, which is why I would always recommend joining a union from day 1.

Of course you can. You could negotiate for a percentage rise on all pay points.
