you are gonna need a bit more than 0.5% to keep up

its more about going in the right direction than the actual amount

Which would favour the low achievers at the expense of the hard workers.

If only 2% of employees work hard, there is a serious problem somewhere!

if we could just stop things getting more and more expensive then we wouldnt have to endure all this bloody hassle and stress and dissapointment

if you had a job and could pay all your bills this year then you would be able to pay them next year if you were in the same job

there is probably some good reason for inflation but ive never figured it out

Inflation is designed and implemented by the wealthy (politicians, bankers) to keep the rest of us poor. They rely on many of us not understanding what it is or how it works to keep us from protesting.

Inflation is engineered in to help those with debt.

Doesn't have to. I've seen collectively negotiated pay rises which give different employees different pay rises based on their annual apprasials

News is full of talk of an improving UK economy today. Now, no pay rise in 4 years in my case means a 10% pay cut. This means I will be changing jobs soon. I have no concious plan to switch, then again I didnt have one last time as I was in effect head hunted. Curious to wonder what life will bring!
  • Did you get a pay rise in the end? my OH is going through the same as you

People handing their notice in and employers reacting with better pay offers has no really started - it's a chain reaction, so once it does start the most skilled of us will do well.
