Morning
3 more sfd's and not planning on spending anything today either0 -

Ok I admit defeat, this month has been expensive. 2 skips, a new baby monitor, driving licence, getting hedge cut, christmas flight home. These things were at least necessary yet unplanned (or only partially planned). The food blow out annoys me most and I didn't even buy junk or unneeded things. The prices are definitely going up and if you don't have time to shop around or catch YS you snookered.
Anyway, as Kat would say onwards and upwards. I'm not sticking the head in the sand but start thinking about next months figures. Just paid off the CC to have a clean slate (yet small overdraft - fee free) and got 20 quid left in my purse with easily take me to payday Friday with money left over.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi ho hi ho it's back to work I go... Okay I am already here and have been for all of 1 hour and 19 minutes - short day though as I leave at 1900. LLL is away tomorrow, Weds and Thurs so thank goodness I have a little time to myself - her boyfriend has been staying A LOT and he has a habit of talking loudly outside my door when I am on nights and need to sleep. The little house is a bit crowded right now so some down time will be great - she then leaves again on Friday with her dog for a full week! Bliss!
This is for you all to glance at - inspiration that your life is not as bad as you think. I know everyone on this thread are a nice bunch and not folk to take things for granted so no offence is meant but this familyis amazing...

I am in for another SFD today so will add yesterdays now and wait with baited breatht that I can get home without visiting the dreaded VENDING MACHINE although I am loaded down with a green smoothies, nuts, fruit and water AND ate like a horse before coming out. And know I will get more food when I go home... so I should survive..
Thrifty....... Abundant kindly reminded me of that delightful rule we had way back about clearing ones cupboards of food BEFORE buying more - which incidentally will now be introduce to Septembers thread....lol!..and I think to some extent this month has been hard for everyone... what are you planning for the next three months then considering Christmas.... is not far off now..
Right then.. best concentrate on work I guess...
Not long until payday now - THANK GOODNESS!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. I'm feeling exactly the same as you kat - my housemate is away till weds now and she's been in a right bad mood for days and her bfs been staying too. Having just finished work I'm currently sat on the couch revelling in the fact I have the house to myself for a few days yay!
Got a nsd yesterday and shouldn't need to spend till pay day at end of this week so I may just make it past 10!
Kind of worried about next month, I'm moving house far away (again, I'm such a hobo) so it'll be an expensive one. Plus I've gotta find somewhere first! And unfortunately letting agents don't look too favourably on someone with a DMP0 -
I feel like I'm wishing this month away so I can get cracking in September lol.

Evening everyone, good to see you're all enjoying the bank holiday weekend rather than hanging about these boards like me
Today I returned my unused bought in a panic earphones so I have an extra £11.49 in my misc purse. I also made it to yoga again :A and skipped the smoothie so I made it another SFD. There's still a lot of month left isn't there? I should make it til at least Thursday without spending a penny, and maybe just one more spendy day after that?
Can't wait to see September's challenge.....0 -

Me neither!! Can't believe how quickly August has gone, this was my first month and I've enjoyed the challenge!
Haven't done perfectly this month, but it's definitely made me think more! Plus maternity leave started week before last and we will struggle a LOT if we don't clamp down now.
Have kept my grocery budget at £200 for next month, despite an extra mouth joining us, (albeit a little one!)
I've got 10 sfd's this month so far, maybe today could be one, unless i decide what colour to paint the kitchen and then it wont!
Oh and I got given some clothes for dd last week but she doesnt like them, so they're on Fleabay!! :money: will pay the money made off the cc on my 100 day challenge!!
Anyway enough waffling from me, I'll pop back later and own up.....Still here..... but working on that!0 -

I guess being at home for a week didn't help and hubby wanting fresh rolls and cold cuts etc everyday after working hard in the garden. Not thought the new plan all through yet. But def need to use cupboards more again and pay more attention. But seriously I don't seem to have much excess food in the house or consumed this month and still the bill is massive. Hopefully this afternoon I'll crunch some numbers (was too knackered yesterday, to bed at 6 after work, up to make dinner and back in bed by 9).
Christmas should be ok as of the savings we've got left £600 are for christmas (food, drink, and pressies) and the MOT. Will definitely start the present buying soon so it's not panic buying but getting bargains.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
MORNING!!!!
PRESSURE for September ...:rotfl:I will be getting on that today I think. Time to turn up the heat and get ready to save pennies for a better Christmas than last year yes?? Hmmmmm *thinking cap goes on*..
Andrar I have moved 9 times in the last 13 years. Or is it 10 times. Beat that? Longest time was 3 years in one place. I hate relying on other people for a roof over my head - one flatmate who had her mother in England decided to go home to "save more money" - realised when she got there that she hated her mother so came back to London wanting to move in together again - not realising that I had to uproot myself entirely and find somewhere else, move, resettle etc . I told her to do one. Hope you find somewhere soon - so fingers crossed all round I think....
Siouxsie I am glad you finally brought back those headphones - not like waster NSK who leaves them in full view of a grabby tabby that chews threw everything... however I am done to my last coupon. I think I might make it to Friday but HAD to buy hairspray this morning (with ever depleting birthday money) and a pack of donuts slipped in there as well...... Mummy NSK has been reading and told me that since I am down to my last pennies - she said I can use the money she donates each month to the Land Loan (cause I am saving it for one massive payment in December) but I reminded her I just didn't want to... see Mummy Spie's everywhere... #ilovemymummy
LittleSkintDragon I didn't realise that your maternity had started. I am glad you are enjoying the challenge - how may are in your household so far - 2 adults and 1 little one plus baby or is this your first Dragonette? Do you have a seperate budget for nappies etc .. I am intrigued as to how people manage a new little one when budgetting.. spill the beans...
Gretchen I am all with your mindset now. The word Christmas will be mentioned more now I am afraid as I don't want people panic buying closer to the day and wasting money. And yes I want the month to end with my pay packet so I can get rid of another lump sum off the loan! :T
Right so I managed two more SFD's (sunday and yesterday) and the rest of the week should be SFD's.. which brings me in close I guess but I know things could have been better. I think I need to be a little more clever with food in September and see what I can come up with...
Right - a bit of work now I guess or maybe I should balance myu OT forms...:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
