Good morning AAAers
How has your weekend been so far? I've had the laziest morning! I didn't wake til 10 and I've just had a yummy breakfast...heading out shortly while the sun is still shining!
Had a bit of a spendy day yesterday - supermarket visit, forgotten packed lunch and a few bottles of water meant that I had to dip into my purse. Oh, and the car is full of petrol as well.
It's becoming apparent that my food budget will have to increase. I could scrimp on through til the end of August but I want to eat well, and as we're all too aware, that costs money! I have £51.80 coming into my bank account in the next few days and I was planning to pay it straight to a credit card, but on reflection, I'll use £30 of it for food and the rest can go to the credit card. That will take my new food budget to £80 (my norm!) and I can eat properly!
I forgot to get onions so today won't be a SFD, although I have a £1 Asda price guarantee voucher (wombled of course!) so if my interpretation of the rules is right, if I can get in and out of the supermarket just using my voucher and no cash, it will still count as a SFD (I think?!)
Not counting today, my figures so far are:
Food: £36.02/£80
Petrol: £50/£50
SFD: 5/20
Misc: £34.69/£1000 -

Happybeingme - thats amazing how far forward your dfd has come!! Such an achievement x
Thanks littleskintdragon ~ its only through the support and encouragement on here that I've made any progress! I was stupidly paying the minimum off the catalogues, loan, the bank of Mum and was ignoring the overdraft. Paying off and cancelling the catalogue and overdraft last month has given me the incentive I needed to organise clearing the final 2 debts ~ maybe I finally had my 'light bulb' moment??! Seems silly as I've been looking at the moneysavers website for well over a year? I've already adjusted the payments to the loan and my mum so as long as I stick to my budget (even without making overpayments) the debt will be definitely be gone by the end of 2016. I would like to make overpayments and clear it by the June if possible though ~ would be nice to be debt free before I hit 43!
Done the shopping at Mr M to the grand total of £26.66 ~ higher than I was hoping but hopefully I will still remain within my budget?
Off to make some cakes now, have a lovely afternoon all

Hello Campers! Day two of overtime and I am not looking forward to this shift. i have just started ( #constructiveuseoffirstfewminutes ) and will be here until 0045. Treats!! I have cancelled a request for OT next Sunday as I already have the Saturday night and the quick change over and the long hours on top is not my idea of fun! I have booked in for the bank holiday Monday instead...
I will be flicking through the updates as the night progresses but I have my juice at the ready raring to go. Internet usage is sketchy through the night so you may here from me tomorrow. Which will hopefully be another SFD.
Onwards and Upwards! Whoop!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Not had a great weekend MSE wise! Unexpected trip out on Friday resulted in me lifting £50 in cash which was not budgeted for! Spent some on train fare but then bought a few drinks resulting in a £40 spend!!! going out is so expensive!
Yesterday was another trip out but this time budgeted for - I budgeted £40 for drinks and taxi's to my friends 40th. In total lifted £100 in cash over the weekend - I have £36 left in my purse so ever budget by £34!!!!
On a positive note today has been a NSD! Making the scores on the doors look like:
NSD 3/20
Grocery budget 99/200
Fuel 30/50
Entertainment/misc 84/100 (and have another night out to pay for this week!!!)
beauty 0/10
days out 0/15
charity 0/3 (need to sort this one this week!)
There is still a lot of month left!!! not sure I am going to make my entertainment budget stretch!0 -
Hey there fabulous AAAers!
Glad to see you lot are doing goodClocking up those SFDs!
An update from here. Now on 5/20 SFDs. Yesterday was my Mums bday so we took her out for a meal... But, my Aunty came too and she snuck off whilst I was in the toilet and paid for all of us! Had budgeted to pay £60 for it, which sadly was going to have to go on CC as 2 big items I have on eb.ay haven't sold (more on this later). So whilst I told her off for it, she insisted on it and she can afford it. Very pleased that I didn't have to use CC. Haven't used it all month and won't be. It can go back to the drawer, where it lives now.
It's her (my Aunty's) bday next week, already sorted a nice card for her so will get her something nice using my pocket money or take her for coffee.. I have two full Caffe Nero stamp cards! MSEy right? In keeping with this challenge, my Mum knows about our financial situation, so when I told her what I was planning to spend on her, £150, she told me off. And told me not to, that she didn't need that or anything and just seeing us would be enough. So I didn't get her a present per se, but a lovely bunch of her favourite flowers, she loved them
Today has also not been a SFD. But for a good reason- 3 of my 8 small items on eB.ay sold yesterday, so as I'm working tomorrow I took them to the post office shop this aft to get them in the post. The buyers did pay for postage, but I'll class it as a SD. Those sales made me a whopping £3.35. Woo. In keeping with my plans, £1.10 will be going into the "entertainment/misc" pot and £2.20 towards debts (1/3 vs 2/3).
Updated spending totals-
Food £60.71/120
Milk £19.99/25 (drink a lot and switching over from Lactofree to 'normal')
Car/fuel £0/50
Money generating- As above, some smaller eB.ay sales. Others relisted that didn't sell. Still hoping these wheels will sell for £300ish. Also trying to sell my saxophone to a friend who asked me about selling it last year. He's offered 150, I'm trying to push him up to 250ish. Waiting to hear back. More planning has gone into stuff to sell at car boot. Found out the fee for our local one. I'm working the next two Sundays so think we're aiming for the last one in Aug. In total, so far, we've generated £280. I think I'd like to "make" double that if I can shift those big items. I'm going to start being a distributor for Herbalife. Just signed up, but I'd like some training before I go out and start trying to help people. I've been on it for a year myself and done really well so looking forward to helping other people make positive changes to reach their goals..
Finally. Today marks my alcohol free month beginning. Now on booze free until Sept 7th. Saying that I've only had 4 drinks all month on 2 occasions. But it'll definitely be a money saver
Anyway, I have rambled on for long enough!Debt at LBM June 2013- £31,300
Debt July 2014- £16,736
[STRIKE]1 HP, 5 4 3 2[/STRIKE] 1 CC & 2 loans
DFD: March 2017

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't checked in so far this weekend! I have been fairly MSE though..
Friday night I was out with work friends, it was a birthday. I said no to lunch as I'd brought something from home but went out for drinks afterwards. Ended up drinking a bit too much so Saturday was quite a chilled day! Only spent approx £15ish. GF made some HM soup for dinner.
Today me and GF made banana cake, was really good!! She's gone out for dinner with friends so I made spaghetti bolognese - also made enough for lunch tomorrow! Waiting for her to get back as we're going to the cinema, that will be my only expense today!
Hope you've all had a good weekend!Save £12K in 2013 £4000/90000
