Hi Guys,
Short update from me as nothing much to report. Thursday was a spend day for me. No special offers on Ben and Jerry's ice cream, or so I thought, until I happened to go to farmfoods. I bought a tub for £2, then treated myself to some chips for £1.20. Completely unhealthy but sooooo.....good!
Yesterday was a SFD as lazed about at home all day. I finally got my pin for my card, by checking my account on-line doh!
I will have a spend day today, as I need to get a colleague who is leaving a little pressie. I don't need a card as I have a box of occasion cards previously bought from QVC, from my, stick-it-on-the-credit-card-days but they were and still are beautiful handmade cards.
I debated whether or not to buy her a pressie. I line manage her;and she is leaving for an easier job where she will be on more money than I am on  Good luck to her though, I know I am underpaid for the workload and responsibility I have. I encouraged her to take the job and opportunity. My manager even asked me to get her to stay, amongst over things I said it was a 'no brainer' and he's lucky no-one else is following her. It has made me reconsider my position, as soon as I get some free time, I am going to do the same as her look for an easier job with better pay, somehow I don't think I am alone in that hope.:DDebt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, I've been reading though and keeping up with you all. I'm not doing too bad, 4 SFDs so far. A couple of unplanned spends but I've taken them from other posts, so just have to cut down on pre-planned spends. I'm planning no more spends until Wednesday now, but need some lunch bits so will have a late night supermarket dash tonight for YS seeing as its already a spend day!
Two bits of good news from this week... I got a promotion at work which means more money (yayyyy!) but also its something I really want to do, so always a bonus! number 2... Checked my ISA's (I have money in different places due to being an interest rate !!!!!!) and I have just over £11,000!! with just about 7K added in the last 9-10 months! I'm totally chuffed, I had been ignoring what I was savingbecause didn't want to be tempted to spend it so hadn't realised just how it had added up.
I'm not stopping here though, my 31/12/13 tagret is £15000! I've projected my usual monthly savings until then, leaving me £800 short. So i need to find an extra £800 in 4.5 months, which I know sounds small, but I feel like everything is already accounted for, due to me already saving so much, but I really really want to reach this target so I can buy my house! Ideas on a postcard please....October Awakening: Food £20/20 Petrol £50/50 Misc £190/194.01 Extra Earnings £100/196.56 SFDs 20/220 -
Hi all
Got a surprise SFD today after all as we didn't go for our planned day trip because we both feel poorly. So instead OH had leftover pasta bake from yesterday for lunch and DS and I had sausage casserole and spaghetti. In laws came round for the afternoon so I took advantage of the bonus babysitting and managed to put away all the washing from the last few days and take photos of the pile of clothes and scarves going on Ebay tomorrow (free listing).
Up to £64 on my local FB sales so far, doing really well
Hope everyone has good weekends xMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

SFD today - WHOOP! Crazy busy at work so can't stop. Look at the time woulda ya. I'd rather be in bed. Amazing what you do when you are determined to clear debt. Lol!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0

Morning
Sorry I've not been on for a few days ~ no excuse, I just didn't get round to it.
Thurs was a sfd. Fri DS2 wanted to know what a 'cream tea' was so we walked into town, bought some clotted cream, buttermilk (and a few other bits) and made scones when we got back. Enjoyed it when hubby got in from work. Took the kiddies to a local country park yesterday but spent nothing so was another sfd.
Will need to do a shop today and probably Tuesday. I've done a meal plan so shouldn't spend too much but have money off vouchers for Mr M and Mr T so will do the shopping over 2 days to use them. We're seeing my sister and her children tomorrow but I shall make some cakes to take with us. Only other plans for next week is to take DD1 and DS2 to the beach. We're planning to do 1 attraction only while we're there (probably the caves) and as DS1 is staying away at grandparents as he's working we can buy just a family ticket which will be a bit cheaper. Hubby and I have already discussed the money and will share the cost. We will take a picnic though so that should save some pennies.
Lovely to see you Beckyboo what a great idea about the den, I shall suggest this to my 2 youngest (14 & 9). They've never been that close but as DS1 now goes out doing voluntary work a lot they're starting to become friends.
Only other bit of news is I've updated my figures for clearing the debt ~ the new DFD is now..........5/12/16 :j If I stick with the careful spending and make overpayments it should be sooner that that, but that is a huge improvement on the original date (5/2/19).
Have a great day everyone, keep smiling!0 -
Forgot to check in yesterday! Not a nsd i'm afraid, filled up bumble bees tank £40! Should last a while though, also treated myself to diet coke and chocolate :-/
Today I'm working all day, and we don't need anythig from the shops but i'll confirm a nsd later.
Does anyone use noddle?? Ive just checked mine and ive been downgraded feom 4/5 to 3/5 so frustrated!! Will have a look on the other boards to see if i can find info. I have paid a lot off this month so hopefully it'll go back up next month. I was going to cancel my overdraft but now i'm worried it'll have detrimental effect!!
Happybeingme - thats amazing how far forward your dfd has come!! Such an achievement xStill here..... but working on that!0
