Well done on the cc clearing Abundant and Lilian - great news!
Lilian- i'm glad you got a top with the MIL exchange - atleast you have something to show her you've bought and its a lovely treat for yourself that you wouldnt have otherwise got.
ETA: "MIL exchange" sounds like you exchanged her! :rotfl:
Another SFD for mewe did have a chippy tea but this was funded by getting a really good exchange rate for my euros saving £3 from what i'd budgeted/saved so i'm counting it

Last week I discovered that both my spending habits and my eating habits are directly linked to my mood; Wednesday was a bad day so instead of going to the gym after work then having pasta for tea I ended up in a shopping mall buying jewellery, clothes and cookies. Luckily it was the end of the sales so the damage was only £27 which I have scraped back out of my entertainment and food budgets so still hopefully on track.
Petrol £40.78/£40
Food £26.82/£30
Work Expenses £15/£10 (I'll get this back next month though)
Beauty £12.50/£15
Holiday Money £0/£150
Airport Money £0/£10
Charity £5/£5
Nights out/Entertainment £38/£50
SFD 8/20
Packed lunches 100% and doing well on using up old products. Motivating to hear everyone's progress.
Keep up the good work all0 -

Hi Gretchen2012 lovely to see you!
Congrats abundant1972 and lilian1977 ~ that's fantastic news ~ well done!! :j
Another sfd for me. DD1, DS2 and I went to see my sister and her children today (luckily she only lives 10 mins walk away). She invited us to stay for lunch and then gave me a load of magazines to take home (lovely treat as I never buy them now!) Children had a brilliant time with their cousins.
See you tomorrow!0 -
Evening Chickadees!
Anyone watching Benefit Britain 1949!
I have finally caught up on posts so a big hello and well done to Gretchen.....a big well done to Abundant and Lillian! SO proud of you all!!
Well I am sick! I think I have been pushing the OT a little hard! I have the sniffles and shivers and constant sneezing! I have managed to get all my juices done the days before they were needed, managed to get through a night shifts and today got to bed at 0230 and back up for work today!:(
So I have another 3 shifts guaranteed for the month with another 2 pending. Which would mean a whopping 23 days on the trot. Whoop!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... I have calculated a possible over-payment of at least £1500 come October when I get this all paid over. It will be worth it in the end.
Don't tell NSKMum as she is lurking and reading and will go potty if she knows I am working myself to the bone..:o
I love this programme..... I think I will be going back to basics when food is introduced to my diet again. Back to the cupboards and see what I can conjure up. Am actually excited!!
Abundant I am impressed with your friend. I have watched the programme already - the guy is a genius but it must be expensive. How long is your friend doing it for?
Squnky as spending sprees go thats not too bad. When I was reading I began to fear the worst. Clawing it back is good though as I understand you can't bring sale items back...
Brizzle that still sounds like a jolly good holiday. Last year I was on a trip in a caravan with my family for my Grannys birthday - it rained a lot but I loved it! Books, rain on the windows, Irish treacle bread and lots of tea! Bliss. I love camping/caravaning!
LAGL - what an epic haul! I am impressed.
Ooooooooh you guys are doing so well! This is fantastic news! We are almost half way through as well! Whoop!
Right I am off to cuddle the mog...
Onwards!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. well mot a great day again! Took breakfast and lunch to work but my friend had an appointment at my place and I met her in works caf! to catch up afterwards so bought a coffee (£1.20). Then tonight went to DIY store to get paint (budgeted for) but had a fall out with DD2 over wall paper and carpet so was feeling very fed up - my ex took me for paint and we went for tea afterwards - he paid but I bought a drink for us so £4.98 spend
I guess if I hadn't been following this challenge I would of spent more - but still not a NSD so total remains at 3/20! - Must try harder!!!0 -
Morning all,
Yet another spend day yesterday - girls shopping trip - Mum me DD and brothers girlfriend headed to town. However it was not excessive I promise - got ds school tshirts and dd shorts for £4 thanks to £20 MnS gift card from MrRAC. Mum sorted lunch, I got the coffees and parking. The only slightly unauthorised spend was the disney store - £20 for two kids which trust me is a low spend in there - I am very grateful they closed the store in Exeter - it means I only have to do it when Granny is aroundDD tried on a beautiful dress in monsoon which had christmas party potential but we put it behind the counter, looked around other shops then DD decided that she would rather wait until there were more dresses like that in the shops so she could have a better choice. The child training is going well - so far she has spent none of the pocket money she brought with her and added to it!! :rotfl:
Right work to do - SFD hoped for today!!
Love LAGL xx
PS Ooh my mum had run out of perfume so she had decided to treat herself to some but it was £80 in Jn Lwis - came home and bought it online for £45 - if the cash back tracks that will be £40 - half the price!! Crazy!! Still flipping expensive but if you own your house, have no debts I guess that posh perfume is allowedand it is a HUGE bottle of the stuff!!

Good morning all - thanks for the congrats, it does feel good to be able to take that monthly payment off my spreadsheet! However I have reallocated the money to our house savings account as I borrowed my annual train pass money from there last December so have been repaying that monthly. Will increase the amount I repay now. Need to sort out my spreadsheets this morning.
Hoping for a NSD today but might be tempted by the work lottery syndicate - will only be £1 there if I do though. Need eggs on the way home too but they're on offer at £1 and have a 50p coupon so not too bad.
We have decided we'd like to go somewhere for our anniversary in April as hoping to try for a second baby and this might be the last chance before a second might come along, my parents have offered to have DS (2.5) for 2 nights so will research places todayHave been saving for it so shouldn't be too big a dent, especially if we can get a full board deal.

Almost had a bit of wobble last night. When I was leaving work I had planned to go to the supermarket but it was pouring down, I didn’t have a coat and I was in slippy sandals J I was going to abandon the supermarket trip, shelter inside and get a takeaway pizza. But then…. Thinking of this thread, I was wracked with guilt! I went home, changed into waterproofs and sensible shoes and went off to the supermarket in the rain, spending less than I would on a pizza and sorting breakfasts, lunches and teas for the next few days. So pleased I resisted the pizza!0
