  • Good Day one and all!

I am sick. I am of work. SO I shall be researching my supermarket run that will have to occur on Friday and recipe planning to have treats in the cupboard ready for work next week...

Have to drag my sorry carcass out for more apples for my juices so might run to the library as well to see if there are any vegan books to grab - I stupidly brought all the ones I had back and should have renewed at least one of them....

I swear I bought two bags of millet from Holland and Barett but now can't find them so either I am going nuts or LLL has moved them. I smell a food hunt coming on!

Tins of toms and lentils are abundant in my cupboards too so I shall be utilising them before buying anything more. Can't wait to actually eat again. Although being sick helps with this juice fast cause I don't feel like eating...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:..

    Laters....

Almost had a bit of wobble last night. When I was leaving work I had planned to go to the supermarket but it was pouring down, I didn’t have a coat and I was in slippy sandals J I was going to abandon the supermarket trip, shelter inside and get a takeaway pizza. But then…. Thinking of this thread, I was wracked with guilt! I went home, changed into waterproofs and sensible shoes and went off to the supermarket in the rain, spending less than I would on a pizza and sorting breakfasts, lunches and teas for the next few days. So pleased I resisted the pizza! :)

I am so proud of you! This is epic MSE'ing! I love this! A massive well done for your fortitude in the face of yummy treats!!! :T:T:T

  • Spendy day today, buying cake making supplies. Well I say cake, I'm actually planning dessert! Trifle and Tiramisu :D Which actually made it a bit more expensive as I had two kind of alcohol to buy. I'm sure I'll find a use for the leftovers though :rotfl: And I used my £3 off voucher, which helped a bit.

Planning a NSD for tomorrow and Thursday. Not sure I'm going to make the months totals now but I'm gonna try . . .

    HI All,

    My goals/budgets for August:

Budget to include food&entertainment will be £80 a week. I've tried separating into more focussed themes but it doesn't work for me. Once the £80 is spent, that's it! Unless it means the cats going without then I'll cheat.

Days/evenings out planned for August: 2 Orange Wednesday trips to the cinema, holiday shopping trip on Thurs (using money saved up already) and Spa day with bestie (already paid for by me, she's buying lunch/drinks/petrol) & a night out to see a comedian (already paid for but may involve tea out...wonder if I can convince Hubby to pay? ;)

Charitable donation - not sure what/who/how. I like the food bank idea, not sure how to donate to one round here. Do all supermarkets do it?

Beauty spends will come out of my weekly budget.

    20 SFDs... well I'll try ;)

    Good luck everyone xxx

Problems with laptop not connecting to new wifi at home (Vista/Toshiba issue apparently), been off work on holiday (time in lieu for overtime) and today work has been busy so haven't been keeping up with you all.

    Budgets-

    £70 of this week's £80 budget has been spent (including £10 I forgot I'd sponsored a friend)

Days out - spa day with bestie done, shopping with Hubby done and comedian seen - last one included unbudgetted (is that even a word?) meal which went on the CC. Orange Wednesday cinema trip turned into DVDs at home.

Charitable donation not yet done but noticed Mr A's are collecting for local food bank so will donate on Sat as it's payday on Friday.

Will try and catch up with you all soon xxx

    Evening everyone!

Thank you all for your congratulations. This is the second time however I've cleared it. Just shows how easy it is to run them up again. I kept if for 'emergencies' and then before I know it - it was a book here, a grocery shop there, and then BAM - it's back up again. It's now been cut up :)

Kat - my mate is aiming for 60 days!!! His Top Tips:

    1) Just set short term goals. E.g. 1 day. Then 1 week. Then 10 days. 2 weeks. Otherwise it just gets overwhelming.
    2) The green juices (e.g. kale, cabbage etc) taste foul but if you put lemon juice in with them they are not bad. Just keep reminding yourself they are doing you good (keep a sick bag to hand though ha ha ha!!!).
    3) Preparation is key!!! You'll be fine ;)

If you get a craving/urge for food, tell yourself - if tomorrow the urge is there - then you can have a meal. Chances are - by the time tomorrow arrives you'll be fine... and feel better for not having broken the fast.

Good luck!!! Keep us posted and if you need motivation - come on here!!!

    Today = SFD number 8

Yesterday I stocked up on eggs and UHT milk and some more fish for the next 2 weeks. Filled up the tank with fuel so fingers crossed I'll be on SFD role from here on.

Shady - Well done for going out in the rain and staying in budget and resisting the takeaway pizza. That is a real show of willpower. Am well impressed!!! You should be proud!!! :D
