Hello, gosh everyone seems busy and although a few SFD were missed most spends were low or thought about.

I will do a weekly shop today. Got my list of what to buy where and vouchers ready.
DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/25
  • Today will probably be a spendy day!

Thursday is shopping day, and I need some juice for my car,and the car that dh has borrowed!

Although I feel rotten, think baby must be lying on a nerve or something so reading up on some diaries in true mse style! and have no intention of leaving the house yet. why cant L1dl or 4ldi do home delivery.....

I'll pop back later with a proper update, hope you all have a lovely day :)
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Morning All, another SFD for me yesterday 5/20 a first for me! Just shows if I focus and put my mind to it I can do it!

An extra unplanned event popped in, am going camping bank holiday weekend :), it's a gorgeous campsite on the Gower and will be cheapish! :)

So will remain focused for rest of month so can go and not feel guilty about going! Eh xx

  • Morning all!
Feels so good to be back in the 'pulling tight the purse strings' game!
Had a big chat with hubby and two eldest children last night (8 and 15 years old) to get them on board. All seem enthusiastic and keen so just need to try and keep this enthusiasm going!!!
Have spent this morning playing with all my spreadsheets again. Have cancelled another couple of direct debits which will save another £85 a month so that's brilliant. Now need to ring sky. Really should cancel altogether but we have our tv/phone and broadband through them. Their broadband is really good - fast and reliable which hubby needs for work so really loathed to cancel and worried about then having rubbish broadband service - any ideas/advice?
For anyone with bored children on holidays had a very successful no spend activity yesterday. Gave them loads of sheets, bulldog clips and 2 clothes horses and set them the challenge of making a den in the bedroom. All mess was contained in bedroom and they played ALL day in there, having a picnic lunch in there, making up clubhouse rules and making signs and playing games. I have 4 children (2 girls aged 15 and 8 and twin baby boys aged 21 months). They did it all together (boys slowed them down a bit!!!) and had sooooooooooo much fun! Was so proud of how they all worked together and the older girls involved and looked after the twins.
After chat last night set the girls the challenge of thinking of something new they would like to do which is mega cheap. They have decided they want to go and camp overnight somewhere so have set them the challenge of asking their friends if anyone has a small tent they can borrow and finding somewhere cheap to stay. So sweet - they are determined not to spend anything!!! I will stay at home with the twins and daddy is going to take them on their overnight adventure. The planning will probably take longer than the camp but think that's half the fun!
    Happy saving everyone!!!

  • Good Afternoon Chickadees...

Operating in slow motion today! Am just about up, dressed, fed and watered and heading into town. A return of library books ( I am learning you see, no more buying books) a purchase of spiralina for my juices and enough fruit and veg for 7 days worth of juices.

Shame I don't have a juicer. Gonna get a strainer out. Lol!

Hope everyone is chugging along in week two. I am enjoying this malarky I am. Still no money from the old landlady. Am waiting for it to clear tomorrow and if not she will get another email from me. Getting beyond a joke now really. I will be able to add a tenner to it and get £150 off the loan ...:T

RIght.. I shall be back soon and will have a proper old read through the posts but Becky I am super impressed with your girls and the little ones mucking in too! I love their enthusiasm.. see fun for all the family..(on the cheap)..:j:j:j

    Onwards!!!

    Hi all

Just got an unpaid item fee returned as the original debit didn't show online - if something comes out that I've forgotten about I cover it the same day as RBS allow you to do this until 3.30pm. So that's good news :)

Becky that sounds like so much fun, good on your girls!

OOOHHHH!!!!!! This sounds interesting Kat! Hope you don't mind me asking, and ignore if you do, but can I ask what sort of juicing plan you are doing? Only asking as I could desperately do with doing a bit of a detox and desperate to lose a bit of weight! Is it money saving friendly too?!?!?!?!
