Hi everyone,
Mrs Toast -Congrats on the birth of baby Maisie
SFD no 5 for me, almost out of food and desperate for something tasty, but i will not give into temptation, not going shopping till tomorrow. My 3 girls helping with this challenge and although not on this, they are all watching what they are spending and and joining me in SFDs, and suggesting recipes to make use of whats already in the cupboardsTotal debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!0 -
Hi everyone!
Sorry for not checking in sooner, I have been plagued by evil migraines which unfortunately necessitated a trip to the doctor's on Friday and an unplanned £15.70 spend on prescription medicines. Clearly I should be factoring in a £20 emergency budget for this sort of thing!
It's not all bad though, I have chalked up my first NSD at the weekend, and would have managed 2 if I hadn't stupidly thoughtlessly spent £2.16 on 3 mp3 downloadsHowever, I will be taking that money out of my £10 treat money, so am at least starting to keep tabs on my spending and attempt to plan better.
I have a very weird month ahead, as in about 10 days' time I am moving out of my parents' home (where I've lived for the last 2 & a half years) into a studio flat of my own! So, I have to get back into the mindset of budgeting for food, and generally being a heck of a lot more careful with money than I have been. I've lurked on these challenges for so long that I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give one a go!
So, this is what my month looks like thus far (and it is pretty much a test run to see how future months might pan out):
Food budget: £17.35 spent out of £80
Beauty spends: £0 spent out of £10 - I want to get some hair dye and I need a new moisturiser; will have to really restrain my spending urges in B*ots or S*perdrug!
Treat money: £7.69 spent out of £10 - knew this would be the hardest, but am going to be super strict with myself and NOT go over the £10 limit. Have to keep telling myself that the treat will be living in my lovely shiny new home!!
I've donated my £3 to the Trussell Trust by text today so a huge THANK YOU to whoever posted the details for that, sorry can't remember who it was.
And to end on a very positive note, I have earned £116.93 on eBay from sales that finished on Sunday!! Need to calculate the postage costs to see what my final profit was, but it should be in the region of £90ish :T I am extremely pleased with that, and will be putting the money towards covering the cost of hiring a van for my move
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, and apologies for the long post. Keep advancing on everyone, love reading your posts!I really thought I just hit rock bottom. But today, it's like there's rock bottom, 50 feet of crap, then me. (Friends)

karmachilovething I usually try and take something but when it's friends it doesn't really matter as I'm sure you'd be fine if it was the other way round and they showed up empty handed.

Hello everyone,
Sorry I didn't get around to posting yesterday...
Yesterday was NOT a NSD, actually quite a big spends day! We did an online groceries shop, it always looks like you're sticking to budget so well but then slowly the numbers just creep up and up! My girlfriend has decided she's going to get into baking, so of course this means buying EVERYTHING! Mixing bowls, cake tins (with springs?!) Debating whether a 2lb loaf tin is big enough?? I don't have a clue! Butt I have been promised regular cakes so I can't complain even if the initial outlay seemed a bit excessive!
Today has also not been a NSD as I had to buy lunch at work, NOTHING to eat in the fridge, freezer or cupboards hence the online shop! We are also taking my parents out for dinner tonight BUT from then on we have plenty of food in so no more eating out for dinner or lunch for a while! Really hoping for a run of NSDs.
I am thinking about money a lot more every time I buy something so even if I'm spending, hopefully I'm spending wisely!

Evening everyone
Thanks for all the congratulations.
Our money seems to be going a bit daft this month especially with DH off so it's more of damage limitation at the moment. Once I can get out of the house and walk myself we should be able to have SFDs with DS.
I will try and upload a picture so apologies if it's huge. Promise it'll be the only one. Off to update my diary which I haven't done in ages.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
