However, I said that the wagons I had seen were foriegn, anyways my main beef was being tailgated at 50mph in a 50mph limit, this wouldn't be picked up as a speed offence on a tacho.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

If obeying the rules means getting squached by 44 tons of lorry then at the very least they are daft. Retard is a bit extream IMO0 -

With digital tachos, all records must be stored on a database. And the vehicle tacho will also store information for up to a year.
Like I said, the disks were kept/filed and available for inspection, however I don't think inspections were that frequent or thorough, I know when I left I still had half a dozen tachos I had forgotten to hand in from when I occasionally drove the 7.5 tonne wagon, no-one ever asked me for them.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

Possibly Not.
But after 600K on the road, I'd rather the rest of you just got out of my way.
joking........:rotfl:
If I have a fault it's that I fail to understand why I shouldn't overtake when it's SAFE and legal to do so. It seems the world is full of drivers who have not a clue.0 -

Speed limits in most of the EEC are similar to ours, and in many cases are lower.
The OP was talking about motorways, not 50mph limits. It would need the truck to be pulled over on the 50mph limit road to prove that they were speeding from their tacho.0 -

In that case both you and the operator could be prosecuted.0 -

You explain it lo me.
How can someone lose their licence for speeding without any evidence?0 -

I would think that would be unlikely after the best part of a decade.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

As an aggressive driver, your perception of what is safe may be way off the mark. Aggressive drivers do usually take more risks. And they often bully other traffic out of their way (which can also result in a collision). Even emergency vehicle drivers are now taught to not force other drivers to break the law, or put themselves in a dangerous position. And to switch their sirens off and wait, rather than panicking other drivers into doing so.
As this and many other threads show, many people don't even know what is legal, and what isn't.0 -

No, you would need evidence of excess speed other than from their tacho.
You pull a vehicle look at the charts then do him for speeding if that's the only evidence you have.
Now please stop making things up.0
