In your individual case you are probably right. But the thread isn't talking about something that happened about 10 years ago.

Cyclist are seen by many as lower class citizens, can't afford a car, don't belong on the road, which is why they're hated for no "road tax", for overtaking in traffic and a whole host of other stupid things.
The ironic thing is, most drivers don't realise that some of the cyclists they overtake are riding machines worth more than their car.
My problem with cyclists is there is no cumpolsary awareness course, licencing or insurance.
Many cyclists simply do not know the rules of the road (and many motorists dont either), are not aware of traffic around them and believe themselves to be higher than drivers (because it's green, because its... whatever the reason)
The simple fact is, if a cyclist takes you're wing mirror off, or causes you to swerve, they will carry on their merry way and you've got no chance of finding them0 -

Impossible after six months, as they're summary offences.0 -

Give them space and avoid them then. They are far more vulnerable than you, and are unpredictable. So it takes more defensive driving on your part.0 -

It's a difficult one, however, I would like to see cyclists a held little more accountable for their actions, we had several hundreds of pounds damage done to our company car because a cyclists tried to get though a gap that wasn't quite enough, traffic was stationary, waiting at lights, road was narrow and no cycle lane, cyclists never stopped, he never even looked back, totally arrogant.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

? Stuck in traffic, and one comes 'wizzing' past and takes a mirror off, hows the driver at fault?
Cyclist runs a red light and causes the driver to swerve, hows that the drivers fault?
Stop defending bad cyclists. You're right they are more vulnderable than me, perhaps someone should tell them...0 -

There is on probably about it.
Is this something you have a knowledge of or are you making things up as you go along?0 -

People get a lot of daft ideas about cyclists, the fact is that your looking for reasons to hate them, when most of them don't do anything wrong.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
