Very disappointed to hear that airlines can change a flight almost a week later and give no compensation.

no compensation due only if they give more than 14 days notice of the change. Under 14 days = compensation

    Oh no, that's terrible!

I can't believe they can change a flight by 6 days and get away with it. That completely defeats the point of booking ahead.

I've submitted a complaint and will wait to see what comes back but if it is only a refund then I will be very disappointed. It will certainly be the last time I book with them.

    Warm regards,
    Conor

All airlines change schedules, routes etc. It's part of air travel. Why would you expect Vueling to compensate you? No other airline would.
  • Can anybody advise on whether Air Caraibes would be EU-regulated or not please? They are French-owned, and their HQ is in Guadeloupe, which is classed as part of the EU. According to some posters though, this doesn't mean they are EU-regulated, and I've been advised by some that I have no claim?

You've had responses and advice on the thread you started about this.

Yes, I did mention that other posters have offered certain advice. They admitted to being unsure however (although at the same time, some categorically stated NO CLAIM), so I was looking for further advice. Is that okay? Or have I used up my quota?

There's a list of airlines on that thread that are covered under EU261, what more advice do you need? I was going to post a link to conversation I've just found on another forum about Guadeloupe , but in view of your attitude I will refrain.

    Remarkably helpful, thank you kindly.
  • Hey guys,

So before I asked my original question on the forum, I sent a request for compensation to Vueling. Then once I got your replies I expected nothing of it.

However, Vueling offered compensation of 250 Euros. They offered it to me through the Resolver tool and I obviously accepted. But then I got an email today saying they were not going to pay it.

Are they allow to make an offer of compensation then rescind it after it has been accepted?

    Thanks in advance!
  • Thanks for your informative reply.

I don't know much about airlines and their scheduling habits - hence the question :)

Sounds like human error. EU261 is not due for schedule changes advised more than 14 days in advance. As the changes were for flights 3+ months out there is not EU261 compensation due
