Yes. because compensation is based on distance as well as time delay. You will be due €600 per passenger if your flight arrived more than 4 hours after your original time. If under 4 hours it reduces to €300 per passenger. Always depending on why your original flight was delayed by 4 hours. Put your flight details into Bottonline or Euclaim and see what they say about compensation.0

Just wanted to say that we have successfully claimed compensation for a delayed flight with American Airlines. It was 4 hours 24mins late in arriving and AA paid up with no quibbling.
We used the Resolver tool which I cant rate highly enough.
Thanks.0 -
I recently lodged a claim using Resover against Small Planet airlines.
Eventually I received an email offering me a 'Goodwill' payment and asking for my bank details.
Since I sent these off at the beginning of October I have had neither payment or any response to any further emails I have sent.
Does anyone know how I can escalate this or get this resolved please?
Very annoyed with Small Planet!0 -

I've very recently finalised a claim against Swiss for a journey from London to Hong Kong via Zurich in January 2015. Due to a late first leg connecting flight I ended up missing my connection and arriving in Hong Kong nearly a day late.
Upon returning home I attempted to claim from Swissair but to say I was met with intransigence was an understatement. Their initial response was that the circumstances were outside their control, therefore they weren't liable (they also point blank refused to divulge any details of these circumstances). A few more months of chasing followed, including a final letter threatening legal action, none of which Swiss could be bothered to even acknoweldge.
At this point I was left with the options of either taking them to court or giving up, and to be honest I'd probably have opted for the latter which I guess is what they bank on. However, I then heard (I think on this site) about the new arbitration process that was due to come into effect, to which end I subsequently lodged a claim with SOP (the regulator for Swiss & Lufthansa). I wasn't expecting great things but a raft of paperwork and 3 months later (during which Swiss continued to argue against liability for a variety of reasons, including not being part of the EU and that the connecting flight didn't originate in the EU), the regulators found in my favour and awarded me 600 Euros in compensation. After a few more days Swiss accepted this ruling and have just confirmed payment of 600 Euros.
IMHO, Swiss clearly aren't interested in settling these complaints, instead hoping that the complainants simply give up. My advice is, don't!0 -

Hi all,
I wonder if i could ask for some opinions regarding my claim for flight delay, It is with Easyjet and for a delay of 3hrs 9mins.
Now, the delay was caused because the ground staff that were fueling the plane drove the fueling truck away while the fueling hose was still connected to the plane thus causing damage to the fuel coupling on the plane and then waiting for the engineers to inspect/fix before we could depart.
Do people think that this would be classed as an exceptional circumstances ?.
I have made a claim and this was the reply i got from easyjet.
Dear *******,
I really do apologize on the misunderstanding and the inconvenience it has caused you.
I can confirm our systems show that your flight EZY6948 for booking Reference ******* was disrupted due to G-EZOL suffered ground damage in BJV - fuel coupling damaged by fuel truck. Operated to EDI after engineers' inspection. Which was delayed your flight for 3 hours and 9 minutes.
We can offer you compensation in a form of a flight voucher which will be valid for 6 months from the time it is issued, you may use it to reduce costs of a new booking and against cost of luggage and selecting seating.
You will need to call in to our friendly Customer service Team to use the flight voucher.
I hope this helps you and we will be looking forward to your reply.
What do you guys think?, do i have a claim for compensation money, or are easyjet just trying to pull a fast one by offering vouchers.
thanks.
PS: they dont even say how much the vouchers are worth . lol..0
