Sorry but you can't claim after more than six years from the flight date.0

There is a difference between legal connections and comfortable connections
eg a 1.5 hour connection in the US is perfectly doable for a US passport holder with Global entry and no baggage but near on impossible for everyone else (who should aim for 3 hours+)
The passenger needs to take a bit responsibility for selecting a connection that they are comfortable with from the available options
You selected a short connection and you have protection as it was all on one ticket. As the inbound flight was late, you make your claim from them following the information in Vauban's guide0 -
Hi, wonder if you can help.
our flight to Singapore has been cancelled completely and we have been offered a flight 24 hours earlier. This has many complications - extra day off work, so loss of pay, extra cost for a night in Singapore, extra food and living costs etc. we have been offered £50 towards the cost of a hotel in Singapore - thats it. are we entitled to compensation as the flight isnt delayed, but leaving 24 hours earlier - any advice most welcome.0 -
Where are you flying to Singapore from?
Which airline is it?
Have they given you more than 14 days notice?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Hi Richard, we are flying from manchester in Feb 17 with Singapore Airlines
they have completely cancelled the flight and offered 24 hours earlier, 24 hours later or a different flight on the same day but flying via Heathrow.
just offered £50 pp towards hotel in Singapore if we fly the day earlier - nothing if we take the other options.0 -
It appears they are complying with Article 8 of EU Reg EC261:2004, offering re-routing, and because they have given more than 14 days notice no compensation is due.
Just pick the best alternative that suits you. They are getting rid of the stop in Munich.
If there is a Cathay Pacific routing MAN-HKG-SIN that's better for you than any MAN-LHR-SIN BA/SQ routing, then you could ask for that, but SQ would resist.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

will the flight via LHR not mean you have no loss of pay, no extra hotel, no additional meals, living costs etc...is it not a suitable solution?0 -

Hi,
The reason for the scheduled change to their timetable is because Singapore flights from Manchester are going to change.
Currently they have daily flights via Munich. In the future they will route 5x per week Singapore-Manchester-Houston (USA) and the reverse on return.
Unfortunately there is no flight from Manchester to Singapore on 17th Feb17.
I'm sure it will go daily again in the future when they have more aircraft, but that won't help you now.
As Caz says, you could ask to be routed via London on the same day. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Just got a final word response from Norwegian Air regarding a flight that was delayed 3hr 40... the response was a rejection. Have written to the ECC for now.0

what reason do they give?
have you checked the details on the NWNF checkers EUClaim and Bott&co, if they both agree with Norwegian then you can stop, if they believe compensation is due, keep going0
