It's oddly worded, but reading through again you could be right...
We'll pay you £100 now and see what happens with Van Der Lans? After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I've not replied yet, find it difficult to ask this in a way that doesn't make them retract the offer. I also suspect they'd subtract the £100 from any claim later made unless explicitly saying otherwise.
Any feelings on where the van der Lans case is going in terms of outcome and timeline? I heard it's about 5 months, but I guess there will no doubt be appeals and so on.
Considering taking the £100 (if not in lieu of the claim) if it is indeed in return for waiting a few months.0 -
I wrote a letter using the template on this site about 8 weeks ago, and posted it International Signed For, to Norwegian Air about a 5 hour delay from Gatwick to Stockholm that happened in May.
(in fact, once actually on the flight, I used their free onboard WiFi to download the template and write the letter there and then!)
I have not heard back from them.
What's the best course of next action?0 -
ohit - re Vauban's Guide and go from there.0

We were delayed 20 hours on a Thomson Flight on 19th June 2015. I sent the sample claim letter and copies of Boarding Pass the letter confirming delay we were issued with at Corfu Airport.
Been about 3 weeks now and heard nothing.
What should I do now ?0 -

Follow Vaubans guide and issue an LBA/NBA straight away. That should grab their attention and get things moving.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
So little background to my story.
I was flying from Heathrow to New York JFK recently on a 8:20am flight.
We got on the flight ok but there was a delay as someone was deciding not to travel so they say so needed to offload the bag.
Then a further delay due to a fault with a plane they hoped to get fixed. Turns out they could not fix in time so we were all offloaded whilst a new plane was arranged and offered £5 food voucher.
New time of departure was set for 12:15 but at 12:00 we were still waiting at the gate, the staff had not moved the catering over from the other flight yet.
FInally got away 1:30pm (was due 8:20am).
When I landed the other end my bag was on the later flight so I waited an hour or so to collect it as I did not really trust delivery to my hotel after the issues before.
In total I arrived with my bag about 5 1/2hrs late.
I had heard about using this forum from friends on Twitter so filled in the claim form to send to British Airways and expected a big wait or battle on my hands.
I sent the letter recorded delivery and within 7 days I had an email reply apologising for what happened and accepted under the EU regulation I was due €600 converted into £ and asked for my bank details for a fast transfer.
3 days later I have been paid!
So 10 days from posting a letter I had £419.22 in my account as compensation.
Must say I am VERY impressed with the speed and also so grateful to MSE for the help on the site letting me get this compensation.0 -
