I suspect that this is likely to happen in most claims now. They do have a backlog to clear0

Flew with Norwegian in June with my family of 5 we was delayed 4 hours coming home from Majorca. Contacted Norwegian when we got home to claim compensation, they denied it to us. So I wrote to the Spanish aviation following martins advise, got a decision back that I had a claim! 1 week later Norwegian had paid out 250euros per person!! Great just before Christmas. Thanks to Martin and the team for all the templates and advise on the next steps0

Dear All, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice re a case I have outstanding against Easyjet. The CAA have finally replied to me, from June 2013, now that the Supreme has ruled in the Jet 2 case. However they are saying that because I accepted a refund for my flight I am not entitled to any compensation. The delay was over 5 hours and Easyjet were citing technical difficulties which this new ruling would now not allow them to do. When I tried to check in the delay was already going to be well over 5 hours and that would mean missing work which I was not able to do, so I bought new tickets. The CAA seem to be agreeing with Easyjet and said although I can take this case to court they wouldn't advise this? Many thanks in advance0

It would appear to me that you could get compo as well, if you took the new flights *after* the 5 hour delay had happened, - not by taking the (new) flight in anticipation of the delay.0

Apologies in advance if I've posted this in the wrong place or missed the answer in the guides/FAQs
Darwin Airline/Etihad Regional confirmed my right to compensation for a cancelled flight and advised me that the payment process could take up to 90 days.
The 90 days passed and, upon inquiring, I have received the following update:
"We regret to inform you that we are experiencing some delays in the whole payment process and at the moment we cannot give an exact date for the reimbursement.
It depends on the weekly amount that our administration and financial department will authorize each week for reimbursement.
We hope we can process it soon and we will push on our administration to have it made soon."
Do the airlines have to pay compensation within a fixed timeframe?
Thanks,

Confirmed your right to compensation under EC261/2004? Where was your flight from and to ?muddywhitechicken wrote: »"We regret to inform you that we are experiencing some delays in the whole payment process and at the moment we cannot give an exact date for the reimbursement.
Is this just a refund of a cancelled flight or a compensation claim ?muddywhitechicken wrote: »

No they don't, I would normally suggest writing an NBA, CobyBenson posted an address https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4888630

Qatar said "no" due to UK Statute of Limitations.
Went to CAA, who also said "no":
"After reviewing your file, it appears that your flight was more than six years ago. As such, we are unable to investigate your complaint any further, as in the UK the time limit for bringing a claim to court for compensation is six years from the date of the delayed/cancelled flight. The CAA’s policy on complaint handling is that we cannot provide a service beyond the time limits of UK courts. Also, experience has shown us that it is very difficult to assess the cause of a flight delay several years ago because good documentation of what happened on the day is rarely available."0 -

Thanks, yes it sounds like you have a case, I would advise issuing an NBA, if they intend to pay up, they will once that's been issued, it's certainly your next step. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
