Unfortunately this information was supplied via a NWNF company.

I'd just add that perhaps some NWNF companies want the obvious 'easy to win' cases anything that requires some actual real legal work - well ditch the claim. Feels a bit like boiler replacement or PPI!

Vauban has given good advice re - Bott & Co

I would drop Bott a line - for the sake of an email, you may get rather more joy.

Not all NWNF companies are the same.

Incidentally, I'm not sure I would entirely trust a legal judgement to claim4flights, when they boast on their website that "We won’t get solicitors involved unless!we need to. They often slow the whole process down." Hmmm ...
  • My husband and I were delayed by 3 hours on a Monarch flight from Luton to Dalaman, Turkey, due to a technical issue. I saved our boarding passes, the letter given out by the handlers, acknowledging the problem and then submitted a claim via the Monarch website. I received an irritating response from the airline saying that due to the appeal to the legislation, our application was put on hold until October.
A couple of weeks ago I read on MSE that the challenge had been overthrown and that we should be pushing for resolution. I sent a new email to Monarch, with the claim reference number and got a standard response saying it could take 6 weeks to process the claim. However in less than a week, they have got back to me saying I can expect a cheque for £313.79 (the equivalent of 400Euros). :T
That's just for me-I'm expecting that my other half will get the same. So don't give up! Thanks to MSE as always for really useful and clear info!
  • I will contact Bott & Co - I did find it odd that my NWNF firm had not come across the Gibraltar hiccup before - am I the only person claiming for a Gib-UK flight or vice versa? That's even more strange. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks everyone.

Best of luck - and do let us know what they say.
  • Help please. We flew from Chicago to Heathrow on BA. flight from Chicago was late in departing due to "catering issues" ( not enough meals on board). When we arrived at LHR there was no driver to drive the stairs to the plane. We missed our connecting flight to Glasgow & had to get the next place 3.5 hours later. Would we be entitled to compensation ? Thanks in advance.
Every day above ground is a good day.

Most probably. What was the delay incurred at each stage? My guide explains next steps.
  • Our flight with Ryanair was delayed by more than 3 hours and they have confirmed this also.

Yet this is the reply we got from them:

"We regret that there is no refund due on this booking because the flight has been utilised.

Please check the booking reference and re-apply if you have applied for a refund on the incorrect reservation.

We hope the above has clarified this matter."

What is my next step please? I have written back and as yet no reply.

You are not asking for a refund of the flight you are asking for compensation under the EC261/2004 regs, follow Vaubans guide and visit the Ryanair thread for further info on how to pursue your claim.
