Think I'm probably being stupid here but where do I find the FAQs and stickies? I'm trying to research whether my daughter and g'children have a claim for a delayed flight from Malaga in April 2012 but doubt they still have the boarding passes

Earlier this year, I booked and paid in full for a flight with BA from Gatwick to Rome. I had to fly on a particular day and time because I was joining a WWII tour. I had to be at Rome Airport to meet up with the coach. No other flight time was possible. Just a few weeks before the agreed flight I received an email from BA informing me that the flight was cancelled. They gave me an alternative but this would have arrived too late to join the group on the coach. I received a full refund. My question is, can I claim compensation as I missed a very important event?0

Not sure if i am able to claim as the delay was outside the EU (well kinda)............
I flew to New Zealand from Manchester in December and booked with Quantas. The trip was broken into a few flights and the first part was Manchester to Dubai before getting another flight from Dubai to Sydney then Sydney to Auckland.
We turned up at Dubai and weren't really told anything however the flight was delayed for 6 hours. Once we then got on our flight a passenger next to us informed us that he was on the flight originally travelling from London, and this was our connecting flight before going onto Sydney, and that the plane travelled to Germany before turning back to London to remove an aggressive passenger.
I don't feel it really was the airlines fault however i don't know what the rulings of this are? And i'm also not sure if this counts as leaving from an EU airport?
Any help on whether I am able to make a claim or not?0 -
Thanks for the interesting possibilities this ruling brings about. However, my situation was that my package holiday flight with Thos Cook returned inexplicably to another UK airport ( we are certain it was for next day scheduling purposes).there was minimal assistance at the airport we arrived at and eventually, they provided coach transport to return to the original airport and a ( I think £3 voucher for coffee) Overall delay ( I hour departure then 2 waiting for coach transfer and at least 1 hr on road) to expected arrival was in excess of 4 hours and I wonder if this situation will be covered under this ruling?
Thanks if anyone can advise.

will depend on the reason for the change and how long in advance you were advised of it. Were there other flights landing at your scheduled airport at the time you were due? if there were weather or ATC restrictions then no compensation due.
Airlines do not take diverting to another airport lightly. This causes them considerable issues so would normally be if there was no other options0 -
Another Success Story!!
We were on honeymoon back in November 2010 and had a delayed flight on our return journey. We sat on the plane for three hours with no food waiting to depart. Issues arose due to Easyjet and the fuel company in Egypt. It was a night time flight and the pilots were running out of flying hours so we were advised they were going to try to make it to Athens and then put us all up for the night in hotel. An hour or two later were told they had run out of flying hours so needed us all to disembark from plane. We sat waiting in Airport departures for a few more hours while Easyjet and the Airport tried to sort out a hotel for us all to stay in. Finally we got our flight the next day - 15+ hours later. They said at the time we wouldn't be able to claim compensation due to the problem being out of their control etc. We never thought to complain because of that.
I recently read Martin's blog on claiming compensation for delayed flights and thought I'd try my luck. Within a couple of weeks Easyjet responded and we willing to give us €1200 (€600 each). Brilliant!! Thanks Martin for the encouragement to go for it and the advice on how best to seek compensation.

So im in a situation here...
I had a flight delayed 28 hours from dalaman to turkey on 24 September 2007. I have found my booking which was a holiday booking from lastminute.com and they say they dont have any records of flight info. This is because it was booked with another tour operator (low cost holidays) so they say, however the booking conf says travelbargains. I cant find travel bargains anywhere online and low cost are denying all knowledge of the booking.
I know i was set to fly with Onur Air on Sunday 24th September 2007 but the flight was delayed until the monday. Dalaman-Manchester
When i look on the flight checker it says all flights were on time, well one was 40 mins late but there is no mention of a really long delay/cancellation.
So after all that this is my question, Is that flight info 100% correct and is there still a way to raise a claim?
Thanks
EDIT - also i have a travel insurance policy from the time which i know i made a claim on for the delay. they are trying to hunt that down but as 7 years have passed the underwriters may not have the claim on file.0 -
Rynair - I flew with 3 other friends with Rynair in July 2008. Our flight was delayed by over 5 hours. I followed your template and wrote to Rynair on the 18 January 2014, they replied on the 11 March 2013 refusing my claim.
On the 19 March 2014 I appealed to the ESA and they replied on the 1 July 2014 agreeing that I was entitled to compensation of £400 per passenger being a flight of more than 1500 km.
The ESA also wrote to Rynair and I sent a copy of their letter to them on the 13 July 2014. Rynair have replied on the 28 July 2014 stating the following
"I regret that on this occasion Rynair cannot comply with the board's recommendation, as we believe their decision is outside the scope of the EU Reguilation 261/2001.
Help - what can I do now, thank you0
