lovelybones123 - Ryanair have stuffed you as you are now out of time - you were not on 18/01/14 but you are now as over 6 years. What to do now .... walk away.0

Hi myself and my wife caught a plane from LBA to Cyprus in 2011with jet2 when halfway there at 38000ft the plane caught fire and made an emergency landing in the macedonian mountains. Everybody on the flight thought they were going to die. They put us up in a hotel with no air conditioning and miles from the hill Billy airport that I wouldn't fly a kite from. We arrived in Cyprus 27 hours later. Can we make a claim for a delay?0

simple answer - NO. You are out of time. 6 years max in England/WalesIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Too late 2011 and its now 2014 your not a math genius then.
I suspect JP's post referred to one of the other immediately preceding posts, rather than yours. He has a pretty good grasp of the Regulation, and spends a lot of time on here pointing others in the right direction.
I wish you well with your claim.0 -

No - compensation is due when the delay/cancellation is within the airlines control. They cannot be held responsible for the weather/ATC etc. Any claim would have been from your travel insurance providing your policy covered this (some do and some don't)0 -
