    My partner and I were delayed for 24 hours at Manchester airport at the beginning of a 7 day holiday to the Maldives, back in 2009. The good news is you can now claim up to £500 per passenger for delayed flights ... if it was the airline's fault, you could be owed financial compensation.

    How it works
    If your flight was delayed arriving at your final destination for more than three hours, cancelled, you missed your connection or you were denied boarding within the last 6 years, you could be entitled to financial compensation of up to €600 (£500*) per passenger.

    The level of compensation that you are entitled to will be subject to how long your flight was. If your flight took off from or landed at a European airport, you may be entitled to:

    €250 (£210) for all flights of 1500km or less;

    €400 (£340) for all European flights of more than 1500km and non-EU flights between 1500-3500km;

    €600 (£500) for all other flights.

    I'm a business advisor and one of my solicitor contacts sent me an email with this info on it, and they're now acting on my behalf. I'm not able to post a link to their website on here so Google 'Flight Delay Compensation' for further information.

    Best wishes

    :rotfl:Sarcasm is often claimed to be the lowest form of wit, but suitably apt in this case... :rotfl:
    Is it Night of the Numpties this evening, or has an MSE "newsletter" gone out? ;)

    I'm not sure ... I'd ring your local solicitors and ask if they deal with this on a no win no fee basis and then ask them the question. If I win (and apparently I stand a very good chance) the solicitor will take 25% of my compensation, so they'll be more than happy to give you some free advice to get the business!
