We had a 3 Hour delay back from Turkey to Gatwick(group of 8) last May with Thomas Cook Airways, wrote to them using the MSE template and received £2800 holiday voucher-Challenged this and asked for cash instead which was then paid into bank a week later.
Thomas Cook also ask you to complete an online template for flight delays, I did both that and sent them a letter.
Only took 2-3 weeks and two phonecalls to chase, worth it for some extra cash
I have just recieved vouchers too from Thomas Cook.
How did you challenge them? Is it a simple request for the money rather than vouchers?
thank you

Just demand it.
There are loads of references across the board of people being offered vouchers instead of cashPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0 -
ZB 580 monarch flight Manchester to faro due to depart at 0735am did not depart until 2130pm approx.
Can anyone help with information regarding compensation.:(0 -

I'm in an 'especially nice' mood so as a Newbie welcome to MSE.
There's lots of great information in these threads, especially the Sticky FAQs threads and it is worth a good read, for future knowledge if things go wrong on future flights.
In the meantime the answers are
Yes

Anyone think it might be a good idea for the regulars to have a signature that states the answers to the 2 most asked Q's?
Like:
1. You do not have to accept vouchers instead of cash if the airline offers them.
2. Two years is NOT the time limit, despite the airlines (Thomsons) claims.
And then they wouldn't need to be answered ever again.0
