First of all I'm new to all of this!
Monarch Flight ZB402 on 19 June 2013, from Birmingham to Faro was delayed by 10 hours due to a cracked windscreen. I have submitted a claim, along with 4 others, for compensation.
I spoke to Monarch EU claims on Monday and was told they deal with claims in receipt order and should hear from them by the end of this week. From reading this forum I guess we won't receive anything due to ECs. Is anyone else making a claim for this delay?
What should I do if they reject our claims on the basis of ECs?
We missed a complete day of our holiday, which was only for a few days anyway, so feeling a little peeved at expecting a rejection.
Any information would be appreciated.0 -

I have gone through all the guidelines that Martin has shown us. To no avail, CAA have replied to me saying that nothing can be gone into any farther, as someone, who was on the same flight as us has already taken Thomas Cook to court Our hands are tied yet again.
We were delayed for 7 1/2 hrs last June.:(:(0 -

Why are your hands tied? What is to stop you from going to court?0 -
On Saturday the 29th September 2007, my daughter in law and her son took an Air Malta flight from Domodedovo to Malta - the flight should have departed at 06.25 but eventually departed at 11.55 arriving in Malta five hours thirty seven minutes late.
At the time I wrote to Air Malta about compensation but they fobbed me off with some excuse. After reading the latest article I have written to them again but I am sure that they will ask for for the boarding passes etc. in an effort to avoid any payment - also the Maltese courts are not known for their speed of action.
I note that Air Malta is not on your list of Airlines, maybe it should be added?

If people can't even be bothered to do even a minimum of looking around for answers before adding more junk to a 340 page thread, I've decided I can no longer be bothered to reply.0

Hi,
Just received Martins latest newsletter and I'm most intrigued with the EU compensation rules. I think I can submit a claim, but would appreciate any comments.
My wife and I, and my then 3 year old daughter moved back to the UK from South Africa in June 2006
Our flight route was with British Airways : Cape Town - London - Glasgow.
The Cape Town - London flight was on time, but the connection in London Heathrow was delayed by a total of 6.5 hours.
We boarded the plane for an 08h30 departure, but after almost 3 hours waiting in the plane, this flight was eventually cancelled and we had to disembark. We were then allocated seats on another BA flight, which was also delayed further, causing a total delay of 6.5hours.
We did raise a complaint then, but BA refused compensation, and only offered to refund the £50 cost for our pre-booked taxi - which we had to pay again.
Do I have any recourse based on this new/updated regulation?
And I also notice that the BA online compensation claim form page is failing 'Page not Found'. Should I be surprised?
Appreciate your comments. With thanks, Gazza0 -
Hi
After reading the about claiming compo for delayed flights (we were delayed 24hrs flying from Orlando to gatwick in 2008 due to the plane needing a new part and awaiting for it to be flown over from the uk)
However the problem I'm faced with is that we flew with XL airways which ceased operations and went into administration in sept 2008.
Can someone confirm with me that I will be unable to claim any compo.
Thanks in advance0 -
Dear Martin and Team,
I'd very much welcome your advice on our situation. My partner and I were delayed by 22 hours on a Small Planet Airlines flight, we decided not to fly with them in the end due to lack of confidence of not only getting to our destination but getting back again, so lost not only the flight money that we are seeking but also hotel and transfer costs. It was due to staffing issues on their part which makes them liable. I have contacted them to ask for a refund of the flight and also the compensation due but are simply getting no response. We cannot claim on our insurance as we need a letter from the airline stating the reason and length of delay which we have also asked for but again have received no response. So we haven't had our claim rejected just simply ignored, should we go straight to the CAA/ECC?
Thank you0
