  • Does anyone know the contact details for Cubana Airlines. I found contact details for their UK representative and sent them a letter, but got no response. Tried ringing the phone number on the contact details, but it doesn't exist.

I'm at the NOA stage. Preparing the documents for an online application via MCOL. My question relates to the level of the claim - its E600 per pax but is it £515 or now sterling has plunged do I use a current exchange rate? Seems cheaper to claim a straight £500. What have others done??

    Hi their,
Use the FX exchange rate at the actual date of the delay, not the current exchange rate. It could be higher, but check the FX average exchange rate of that date, and print a copy for your files, and possibly court. Do not forget to charge interest @ 8% against the total claimed amount, from the date of delay, up to Court submission date, plus interest @ 8% from that date, until the final date of judgement.

I am currently locked in battle to get even a half sensible response from Iberia on a claim for compensation for a flight delayed for 5 hours from Ecuador to London via Madrid. Letters sent to London office of airline only result in poor English language emails from their Madrid office with a "no reply" email address. These email replies simply acknowledge my unhappiness with delayed flight and promise to "do better" in future - no acknowledgement that an application for compensation has been made (four times). I am now getting papers ready for Small Claims Court. Based on my experience I suggest one letter to airline with 30 days for them to reply (as per Court requirement) then put it before the Court - nothing else will get these people to behave honourably and within the law.

    Hi Jasper,
My Court action is with Iberia, Court date 30/4/2013. My case goes back to 12/2010, Iberia are useless at Madrid, So is their London Registerd office. In my Opinion, give them one final letter to London office, (14 days), stating if not paid by the end of the period allowed, you will, issue County court Proceedings via MCOL. This is the only course of action, they are not contactable via intenet, and only contactable by letter, log everything down, they use excuses, and do not reply to correspondence, So court action is the only method to adopt, good luck. the Legal firm they use is also usless, do not answer letters, and apply delaying tatics for court hearing date, in my case out of 93 day period, they could only attend Court on 14 days of that total, hence from December 2012, until hearing date of the 30/4/2013. Do not let them off the hook, persue it to the end. Iberia are the worlds worst, they even ignored the Spanish regulator (AESA), report that stated I should be compensated, now running in excess of £1,436 for two of us, nearly 8 hr delays from Sao Paulo to Madrid to LHR.

Hi, i have just recieved a letter of rejection from monarch regarding a claim. They are stating that it was delayed by extraordinary circumstances. The letter then carries on to confirm that the delay was due to a technical problem with an aircraft from within the fleet(not our aircraft). The aircraft had developed a number 1 engine fault which required extensive trouble shooting as a result there were insufficent aircraft available to operate our flight.
How can they state extraordinary circumstances when it was an engine fault on another aircraft and the aircraft we were meant to travel on was used on an earlier flight.
    any advice would be appreiciated.
flight ZB287 tenerife to london 22 june 2012 delayed 6 hours 20 mins.

Firstly post on the Monarch thread and read through as much as you can be bothered to read. You will then see you have a valid claim which you can either sort yourself or go via a claim firm. If you want to express your anger various pages on Facebook, Review Sites etc.

Just wondered if anyone has been able to register on the forum flightmole recently or had a response from the recovery service easyflightclaims?

I have emailed both on the 5th March and had no contact from either?
