Compensation for delayed flights Discussion Area

Now had the usual reply from TC exceptional circumstances. The flight was TCX 7175 from Corfu on 08/10/2012, delayed by 9hrs then diverted to Cardiff. I am now trying to find out the exact cause of the exceptional circumstances. Tried ringing but the lines are exceptionally busy & they cut you off
My folks endured the same flight as you - I wondered if you had any luck, or whether we should start a support group?!0 -

I have searched for ages but I have been unable to find the template letter to complain to the airline.
Can anyone help with the link?

I am currently awaiting a Court date in respect of my claim against Monarch Airlines for a 26 hour delay. Monarch are stating the technical problem experienced come under the heading of extraordinary circumstances......
Looks like I'm doomed from any early settlement from Monarch then. After our flight was delayed 5 hours they sent all passengers an email apologising for the delay telling us it was due to a technical fault (also that we should contact our travel insurers !!!). This to me says they were pre-empting claims which they'd go on to refuse on the grounds that it was "extraordinary circs"
I ignored that and wrote my first claim letter soon after. They wrote back to inform me of the then stayed case and invited me to write again once it was settled and they'd "happily reassess".
Ha ha that word means absolutely nowt. It's a bit like employers saying you'll get a wage review - yeah they review it and still give you b***** all.
I've now sent my follow up letter and will just wait to see what they come up with. I'm not holding my breath that they'll settle out of court.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
